Does anyone have any experience with their bags? How do they compare to D&B?

I've come across a few in my vintage D&B searches. I'm asking in this forum because I thought they looked very similar to Dooney's. I took a look on their site and saw they started in 1975, and are also out of Norwalk, CT.

Ghurka used to be sold on shophq, when it was previously shopnbc, or one of their other names. I'm not sure if it's still open (probably not) but there is/was a Ghurka store in San Francisco.
Ghurka had a spinoff line on shophq called Prix De Dressage. I bought two bags from that line and I agree, they reminded me of Dooney bags. I can't find pictures of the second one. I'll keep looking.
As far as quality, PDD bags in my opinion are not quite the quality of Dooney, and lack some of the details, like leather lined pockets, and a key leash. It was priced higher than Dooney, but I waited for a sale. The Ghurka line uses a higher quality leather that may be a little thicker (for lack of a better word) than Dooney's pebble leather.
I purchased this bag January, 2015. The picture was taken for the purse forum January 7, 2015.

It’s been several years, but I had a wallet from Ghurka and it was extremely well made. I purch a couple of bags back then as well, but I didn’t keep them because they were too heavy for me. I buy and love Dooney, but in my experience, Ghurka was a step or so above in quality when I purchased it. You may want to look at Frank Clegg. His bags are made for a lifetime and made in the US. I can’t say enough good things about them.
