I would if I have no limit in my budget but sadly I already spent quite some money on Hermes recently so maximum one pair for me
I am still thinking...would probably wait and try them in stores when I travel in 3 weeks
Don't forget the Gucci sale starts around Thanksgiving. Not sure if these shoes will be part of the sale or not though. I love anything suede but they are both gorgeous.

I have both and love both. If I had to pick one, I would pick the leather-- I think they are more versatile and can be worn easily all year long.

If you haven't ordered yet I would advise you to not order from Gucci.com, but from one of he department stores-- Nordstrom , NM , etc-- if you can. I just don't think Gucci.com has its act together.

Here's my story......... I ordered my first pair of black leather Marmonts from Gucci.com at the beginning of April and was due for delivery in two weeks. I ended up with two big issues :

1) I actually received the shoes mid-August and at no time during the 4 months between April and August did Gucci ever communicate with me-- just the original order confirmation in April. I called them in May, June and July and although customer service was very nice, I got a different story every time I called .

2). I received the shoes in mid-August and was thrilled to get them. I checked the box for the size - 38- but didn't try them on since I already had the suede and knew 38's were good. In mid-September I pulled them out to wear and noticed one shoe felt tighter than the other -- turns out they had sent me one 37 1/2 and one 38.

So 5 months after I ordered from Gucci.com I still didn't have the right shoes. I sent them back to Gucci.com and they refunded the purchase price but I won't order from them again.

I have another idea! Get the suede Marmont and get the similar style -- Polly.-- in leather.

Because I am a crazy shoe lady I these too and love them.

Wow! This is something. Very poor service indeed.

I find the chisel-toe line more like the Peytons which also makes them look less 60s and more 70s retro. I have both toe lines but I think the chisel toe looks better with skinnies. I do love the suede Marmonts really 'dolly', matte and tactile but I think it's worth having black in both suede and leather if people can justify, it's like having 2 colours. One of our members has pink in both a cracked-metallic and suede (and another 2 pairs). If something suits...:graucho:

Wow thank you so much for sharing your experience! Terrible service from Gucci.com! I bought my ace sneakers from them and they were shipped out to me immediately (I live in Europe). I have no Gucci stores near me so I guess I will have to rely on their website. Hope it goes ok!

May I ask how are the sizes for suede and leather? I heard from some that they need to go a full size down for suede and leather seems to be more true to size. Does that apply in your situation too?

Thanks again!

I bought my suede ones from Neiman Marcus a year ago and the leather ones in September this year. Both are the same size and I haven't noticed any difference in the way they fit me.

ETA: I just went in my closet, tried on one left suede and one right leather and they fit me the same. I compared them sole to sole and then side by side and my leather and my suede look exactly the same.
