They are all beautiful but the multicoloured one is so special. View attachment 5981804
I told Max I wanted a design that would make me smile every time I looked at it. I commissioned the bag early into the COVID pandemic. I wanted to support artists during that time.

Max succeeded with this Hippy, Pyschadelic Plume. I grin when I see it.

Congrats!! A bit back someone was asking about options for painting their bag here, and I remembered your Plume and mentioned Max, but I wasn’t sure if he was still taking commissions based on what I found via quick Googling. Happy to see he is doing beautiful work still! Love how your three pieces are all different art styles but all gorgeous!

Thanks for all the :heart::heart: everyone!!!
Max is really wonderful to work with and he is just so very talented.

Painting bags is not for everyone. I've seen bags that have made me scratch my head (never Max B bags).
But, I have been thrilled with mine. I am a visual person that has a defined (and perhaps a little off beat) style. I know what I want. Ad I think very hard on what will work for each individual bag. And I go into the design process knowing I've thoroughly thought it through. The Henna HAC took 18 months of me staring at the bag in my bag closet before deciding to paint it. The Plume was more spur of the moment (≈2-3 months). I've wanted to paint a Garden Party since 2020. I was waiting for the right bag and idea to bubble up. I literally looked through thousands of stock photos of Japanese motifs, images, prints, et al. (and making screen shots of the things I liked). I culled down to 10 or so favorites that I forwarded to Max. The vertical panels of a Garden Party is reminiscent of Shoji screens, so the final design has an aesthetic authenticity.

My recommendations if you do decide to paint your Hermes:
  • Know what you want, but be open to ideas / suggestions from the artist.
  • Imagine the finished product. Will the design be seamless to, and integrated with the bag -- that you cannot imagine the bag before it was painted.
  • Will it fit your wardrobe and style?
  • Give the artist time to paint it right.
  • Have fun with the process. At the end, you will truly have a unique bag.
