Interesting question... I would say the Murakami line made me fall in love with LV but at that time I couldn't even afford it. I was a broke college student.
Fast forward like 15 some odd years later and the By the Pool Speedy 25 in Pink was my MUST HAVE. I bought it on launch day as early as possible like 6am ish online. I love love it!!

same!!! that btp speedy and neverfull in pink. omg . no words. it doesn't hurt that i love hawaii so there's that....

ohhhh now i remember reading your comment in the thread back when this released! we honeymooned in hawaii many years ago ( yep more than 20 lol) and it stayed with me. that is the perfect anniversary gift. i hope you make it back to hawaii soon : ) my son and his girlfriend just traveled to the greek islands for 2 weeks ( during a pandemic, don't get me started ....) and he said that was just beautiful too. that is on my bucket list and to me the escale blue reminds me of the water in the aegean and the colors of santorini (altho i've only seen photos) . i wonder if anyone else would understand associating our lovely bags with exotic destinations?????????????

1)Not a collection per se, but when the monogram vernis was introduced in the late nineties I was in awe. I was like a cat who couldn’t stop staring at the new shiny object. I thought it was so pretty and elegant. The canvas pieces in our household at the time were true workhorses, utilitarian and rather ubiquitous so I never really paid any attention. This vernis, however, stole my heart and started my love affair.

2) For a bag specifically, it was Saint-Jacques(?) in black épi. It was my graduation gift from my parents. I think I cried. Yes I was happy to be finally starting my professional life but the bag’s beauty may have had something to do with it.
