For those who have sold their Jumbo

I am a fan of the jumbo, particularly the single flap because it is so much lighter and less fussy/more user friendly. One thing you may want to think about is whether at some point in the future you might need or want to carry more with you than you do today and thus you might actually want the jumbo size down the road.

As examples, very recently I have found (tragically) that I need to carry readers with me when going to dimly lit restaurants if I actually want to be able to read the menus. Also, while many have transitioned away from carrying cash, I still find a definite need for it, particularly for tips (hotel staff, valet parking, etc.) so I prefer to carry a full sized wallet and not a small card case. Also, if you have kids or even dogs, you might need to carry a few more things on you for them. Even my husband drops his sunglasses in my handbag now and again. All of this takes up space and little bags just won’t cut it. Plus, I despise having my bag so tightly filled that I need to play bag Tetris whenever I remove or replace anything inside.

In short, life changes and your lifestyle will change right along with it. The jumbo is a classic style, and was once the Chanel flap to own. There is a decent chance you might consider the jumbo your ideal bag at some point in the future, so if you like the style and can afford to hang onto a bag you might not use that often right now, it might make sense to hang on to it (especially considering the mediocre resale value for jumbos right now).

If you have a medium cf then I would sell the jumbo. It’s basically the same bag just heavier. Everyone’s saying big bags will be in fashion soon but I don’t think so, at least not that big. The medium cf would be considered a “big” bag in my opinion

I disagree. They have totally different feels to me. The medium is annoying as a day bag. It’s too dainty and formal and double strapped it sits right under your arm it’s so uncomfortable.

The jumbo is the perfect day bag and sits so elegantly double strapped. I wear mine weekly and my medium flap very occasionally usually for nights out.

I do not think anyone should sell a classic flap. They are so iconic you can pass them on or decide they do fit your lifestyle after all.

And the jumbo isn’t a big bag, it’s medium sized. It’s not big at all!

I love my jumbos and actually consider them one of the few bags I even like from Chanel these days. That being said, I have a beige jumbo with GHW that I’m probably going to sell bc it looks too peach to me. But my blacks in both SHW and GHW are clutch, on rotation cross bodies.

I got rid off my double flap jumbo mainly the weight was too heavy within few minutes of carrying, the pain on my shoulder was excruciating painful. Only used it twice in 3 years and replaced it with a single flap which thankfully is a lot lighter. I later bought a medium cf, very nice but rarely used it cos it’s a bit small (for me) for glasses and brolly. I prefer single jumbo and the reissue.

I got 2 over 10 years ago, and sold them both not so long after that because of the weight. I am petite. Then, I decided to get the reissue 226 instead. They are still with me until now ❤️
