I am a fan of the jumbo, particularly the single flap because it is so much lighter and less fussy/more user friendly. One thing you may want to think about is whether at some point in the future you might need or want to carry more with you than you do today and thus you might actually want the jumbo size down the road.
As examples, very recently I have found (tragically) that I need to carry readers with me when going to dimly lit restaurants if I actually want to be able to read the menus. Also, while many have transitioned away from carrying cash, I still find a definite need for it, particularly for tips (hotel staff, valet parking, etc.) so I prefer to carry a full sized wallet and not a small card case. Also, if you have kids or even dogs, you might need to carry a few more things on you for them. Even my husband drops his sunglasses in my handbag now and again. All of this takes up space and little bags just won’t cut it. Plus, I despise having my bag so tightly filled that I need to play bag Tetris whenever I remove or replace anything inside.
In short, life changes and your lifestyle will change right along with it. The jumbo is a classic style, and was once the Chanel flap to own. There is a decent chance you might consider the jumbo your ideal bag at some point in the future, so if you like the style and can afford to hang onto a bag you might not use that often right now, it might make sense to hang on to it (especially considering the mediocre resale value for jumbos right now).
