Hello, can anyone recommend a designer for medium-size stud earrings with a flat back or la pousette back earrings in 14k gold?
I want a pair that I can leave in while sleeping, and 18k is too soft (the posts bend when laying on them).
I want flat backs or La pousette backs so they don’t stab my skin while sleeping.
I also want to leave them on while exercising, so hoops or dangly earrings will not work.
The only ones I have found are meant for cartilage piercings and are tiny; I want regular size studs ~8-9mm.
I would love something similar in size to VCA sweets or smaller Cartier earrings, but in 14k or lower gold so they are less soft.
It would be great if there is some nice design element and not just plain metal discs or a plain jeweled stone.
Thanks!

Have you tried Maria Tash? Pricey and you will have to buy 2 singles but she has some 7mm 14k earrings with threaded flat backs.

Thank you, I will check out this designer. I have heard of her, but did not realize she has larger earrings as well, I have seen more of her multiple tiny earrings being worn.

My friend also just mentioned to me that small continuous hoops may actually work since they will not poke me while sleeping and are small and light enough to be active in. I found a pair from years ago so I am testing them out tonight.

I’ve been wearing Maria Tash hoops for over 2 years now and never have an issue while sleeping!

Thank you! I just tested sleeping in little hoops and it was fine! I looked at her website, the various Opal Spike earrings are very pretty. Which hoops do you have?
I have her plain gold hoops and the diamond hoops. You can get 10% off if you sign up with your email.
I also bought hoops from Pamela Love. They’re about half the price and I haven’t had any issue with them. They’re perfect. The only difference is that Maria Tash hoops have diamonds on both sides but the Pamela Love have diamonds only on the front

Thank you! I will look into Pamela Love as well. It would be nice to have a few pairs of everyday earrings to rotate.

Thank you my friend! You are always so helpful! I will check them out  So busy with this newborn girl I have not been wearing earrings since she was born.
Happy to share! In full disclosure, I haven’t bought anything from them yet, but was on their website and realized they were 14K. Some of Costco’s diamond studs use locking backs as well, but Raintree’s designs stand out to me more.

Editing to add: as she should be! Hope you’re doing well.

Thank you! I trust your taste, we like similar more unique designs.

I was able to customize studs at tiffany to la pousette posts and backings. I can’t remember how much it cost, but it wasn’t a big amount.

Also, I’ve never bent an 18k gold post but I have bent some 14k ones. I think there are some more factors at play other than the gold percentage that determine how hard the post is, such as thickness/length, metal alloy composition, and how work hardened it is. In my experience, the more expensive earrings (which are in 18k or platinum) usually have thicker, stronger posts.
