I would say my overall style is casual. I didn’t know if the Chanel on the strap was too obnoxious. A classic flap would not suit my lifestyle I thought this seemed like a cool alternative that’s casual but could be dressier when it’s on my shoulder with two shorter straps.

I don't think I would call it obnoxious at all, just more pronounced. I agree that it would go from casual to dressy nicely when shortened. I just ultimately feel with the prices as they are now, we need to really love it or connect with it to spend that much. And, for me, it's not even necessarily about what you can "afford". If it's going to sit in your closet, then what's the point? Make sure you love it is all.
