How often I shop with my SA:
Don't laugh, but this week, I went almost every day (my office is near the boutique). To the point where I told the security guard "see you tomorrow" instead of just bye. Out of that, I ordered 2 things, bought 1 and got this year's card out of it too.

What does my wishlist look like:
Like a tornado went through the stockroom? Just kidding. Currently, I have a mini Roulis, an SO Kelly combination (I was asked to think long & hard about what combo I wanted, so I have my options), some bracelets for my watch, a bunch of homeware, a dress. On the fence about a 24/24 that I saw, so it's not really on my wishlist, but I may pop in to try it.

At some point, I may add a KP (have a Cut already so I'm not in any hurry) and a mini Bolide (this one might go on my official wishlist next week). Everything else I'm looking at is in season, so it's just a question of requesting them when I feel like actually getting them (I don't want to waste my SA's search efforts if I'm then not ready to purchase).

Counting towards quota:
From what I understand of H USA, the bags count towards your next quota bag.

But remember that at H, nothing is ever guaranteed and as much as you feel it is a game, with a target $ amount to reach, that isn't the case. Even a confirmed SO could end up being canceled for a variety of reasons. What counts more is genuine enthusiasm for the brand and a great human connection with an SA/SM.

@Ball is absolutely right, and it works wonders to go quite regularly, EVERYWHERE. I'm currently in Europe and it works there, but it' worked in Asia and the US too. That's why I suggested smaller items in the beginning, as you'll want to solidify these visits with purchases. BUT, and that's key in anything Hermès, ONLY GET THINGS YOU WANT (or are planning on giving as gifts to loved ones). Don't just buy random things for the sake of tallying up "credit". An offer for BKC or SO isn't a "gift with purchase" that you end up accessing if you have enough points.

Have you considered dropping a subtle hint such as "My dream bag is (insert quite detailed SO description here)." :giggle: Honestly at this stage, a nudge-nudge-wink-wink might be in order given how good your SA has been so far.
I love you "nudge-nudge-wink-wink" quote! I literally laughed out loud . I am just afraid that I appeared too greedy as SO must be very difficult to get from her SM and she has been so good to me already . Want to make certain I ask after a reasonable passage of time ......

Maybe I will try playing dumb by asking "Are those bags with a different color interior a SO?" and see how she would respond
 ... and aren’t we all H-greedy? I think your SA and their SM appreciates someone who loves their collection and the work that goes into it.
Maybe ask about the contrasting linings in case there are any coming up. I’m planning on beating around the bush with the Au Galop/Éclat contrasts to see if those can be SOed at any point.

Hello!

I was wondering if I should shop in the Hermes in Beverly Hills (because I live near the LA area) or should I save up for when I'm going to Paris, because I want to go to Paris someday (when this pandemic is over). Because I want to buy some SLGs in colors I'm not sure the stores will have or if it seems a hassle (for example, I wanna buy an Hermes Bearn Verso Compact Wallet in Apricot/Rose Azalee--or a Dogon Compact Wallet in Orange Poppy/Rose Candy). But I heard that in order for me to shop in the Hermes in Paris, I would have to have some kind of shopping history there or something like that. But I want to save my first experience shopping in Hermes in Paris.

So should I try to find in SA when I'm going to Paris, or should I head to the BH Hermes to find an SA there.

If anyone can give me any advice, I would truly appreciate it!

Thank you.

Don't wait and shop local because Paris has it's ups and downs with supply too. Beverley Hills should have a pretty good selection, at least for you to firm up your judgement of what you want and if they don't have something you want immediately it will be far, far easier to get it through building a relationship in that store than waiting for Paris to solve your problem. Go and see and enjoy what Beverley Hills has to offer. You don't need a 'history' in Paris to shop in Paris for SLGs - always better to go to the mothership without the added pressure of feeling this is your one shot at getting something you want. Shopping should be a pleasure - not a stressful ordeal and it sounds as if you have a good idea of what you want - the Bearns are great!

Thank you so much for replying! And I think I'm going to try out the BH Hermes because who knows when it'll be safe to travel to Paris with COVID still going on.

Can you offer any tips on what to do and how to get an SA? It's better to come prepared.

Thank you once again!

The BH staff are all great IMO - just let them know that you don't have a regular SA when you make your appointment and they'll assign you one - if you don't click with them you can always switch!

I echo landoboy - I'm in the UK and there doesn't seem to be the emphasis here on having a named SA so much as there is in the USA. Just be yourself and - this is important - have a conversation about what you want. Give them an opportunity to get to know you and be helpful and take the time to explore the options that they can offer you. Ask to feel several types of leather and a number of colours so you feel comfortable with your choices. Be prepared also to say 'no'. It's just a trip to the shop

Hello dear all!

This post and the advice given here are so helpful! I'm also new to H and really love Kelly Pochette. I live in Italy now and went to my local store, bought scarves and told SA I would love to buy a KP. She told me the waiting list is quite long (not surprising) and asked any specific colours I love and told me they would contact me once available (which I don't really believe so, with my new profile). SA seemed to be nice, and gave me her business card but no other contact info, like whatsapp which I have for other brand's SA.

But I will move to US this year around March. Then every year I will only be in Milan for about 1 or 2 months. I'm not sure if I should continue my purchase in this Italian store or start a new profile in US store for my KP? And also is KP extremely difficult to get?

Any advice are welcome! TIA!!!

Thank you so much for your opinion! I truly appreciate it. It's because I often hear some bad things about Hermes SAs in BH, or I don't know if it was the Hermes in SCP (South Coast Plaza), but hearing you say that and what to do really put me at ease. I'm sorry about that. I tend to be shy and scared when it comes to my love of luxury brands when I step into a store. Do you have any SAs to ask for or should I try my luck with the one they recommend?

But thank you! :smile::biggrin:

Hi!
I would suggest to start a relationship with your SA. I started to purchase small items like perfume, a bow tie, Calvi, Bastia or Ulysse to begin with. After that it didn't take a long before I was offered a SO and quota bag ☺

Now I have a really good relationship with several SAs in my local boutique and I have been offered quota bags on several occasions.

So to summarize I made around 5 purchases before I got offered my first Birkin and after that I have just established a good relationship with the SAs by being nice and when I go to my local boutique I ask for the specific SAs and when I meet them I ask how they are, what's new and just being nice in general. I feel like they appreciate someone being generally nice to them helps. At least it has helped me in several of the brand boutiques like Prada, Céline, LV, Chanel and Gucci because now when I come back they always ask me about my family, marriage etc (with some the SAs I have even start to hang out with outside of the boutique)

I think the most important thing is to be genuine and take time to give them as much attention as they give you. Just be yourself and nice and it will get you far :flowers:

Is the ratio 1:1 spending also works at KOP Hermes? It it like that in general anywhere in Hermes USA..? Thank you.

Nothing from Hermes (other than scent and cosmetics) is produced in large quantities, so you need to adopt a 'Get it when you see it' attitude. If you buy something that was not available to you from your usual boutique, decent SAs will know, understand and be pleased for your fortune; they have not lost your custom - there were not in a position to have it in the first place.
vis a vis Paris. Recently there were people like you who had planned, travelled and looked forward to shopping there, only to have their hopes dashed by riots. That was a rather extreme example, but it does show how easily plans can be spoiled.
. . .and we won't mention Covid
