First diamond piece you ever bought/recieved?

My grandparents gave me a diamond ring when I turned 14, but my mom took it since I was too young and she changed the setting eventually to something I didn't like at all. When I got older, my DBF now my DH started buying me diamonds so I never got that ring back from my mom

But in her defense, she gave me her rolex that my grandfather got her in her early 20's so that makes up for the ring

No, I'm romantic too! My first diamond was from my hubby (e-ring)... second one was a bracelet from me to me!

First diamonds were a small 6-stone floral ring, 1/2 ct studs and a pendant. They were given to me by an abusive BF when I was 16. No wonder I don't like men giving me big rocks (I prefer to buy my own).

I gave those pieces to my nieces when they were young.

That's not a nice way to remember diamonds! You should start a new memory with diamonds. Maybe buy yourself a ring on your birthday so you can have a good memory with them

It's OK, it was 30 years ago ( am I really that old? yes I am) and diamonds are my birthstone so I do have a few, mostly ones I bought for myself. You can see the diamond & sapphire ring I bought a few months ago over in the Reference subforum's "Show your Rings" thread, if you want.

I suppose my first diamond piece was from my ex...not such a good memory anymore!
But my favourite is from my parents for my 18th - a .21 diamond ring that I wear on my right hand
It's kind of weird b/c ppl ask me if i am engaged...but it's on my right hand!!?!?!

All of mine were gifts from family. My first diamond piece was when I was 13. It was my Great grand mothers necklace. My latest piece was my grandmothers engagement ring about 3 years ago.

mine were a pair of diamond studs I bought for myself when I turned 21, they were .4 each and not the greatest clarity but I still love them. They remind me how at 21 (only 4 years ago) I thought they were sooo expensive, they were worth it though... The excitement and independence I felt buying my own diamond earrings is a reminder of that even at 21 I didn't rely on anyone to treat me!
