First Cartier Piece, Love Earrings ($1.5K USD) vs D’Amour Small Earrings ($1.8K USD)?

I’m assuming that the D’amour has the diamonds.
So I’d go for the D’amour.

For that amount of gold I feel that the love earrings are very overpriced. And they are quite small (though some people love the size for everyday earrings).

The only caveat would be that, you can kind of get diamond studs anyway and your local jeweler can probably make a pair that’s much cheaper.
And the love gold earrings pay homage to the design and history of the love collection. While diamond studs are just studs.

@lill_canele Thank you for your help! I just figured out the D’amour XS is 0.08 total carat weight at $1040, while the D’amour S is 0.09 total carat weight at $1810. Do you believe this jump is justifiable? I think perhaps the D’amour S has a thicker bezel, hence the higher price point. What would you recommend? Worst case I might consider Tiffany’s DBTY diamond studs. I just don’t like how their backings are just butterfly (not as secure as Cartier’s). Thank you again <3
Try on the single Love studs, they are much cheaper (also a little smaller than the Love pair studs). I wear mine with diamond studs from a local jewellery store (in second holes).
@MaggyH Thank you for sharing this!! I looked into it, and they are cheaper :) I’m just worried about the ball screw/threaded backing. Is it easy to screw them on and off? Thank you <3
I love my Love studs pair, so versatile!
@Swanky I appreciate your opinion, thank you!! I thought so too :)
Can you post pics? It’s easier for people to choose.
@nycmamaofone Yes I will do so in this post :) thank you for letting me know!
Love studs! D'amour is a variation on a common style, but Love studs are distinctly Cartier. A crisp, edgy, but classic design. I love mine.
@unhly_msqurade Thank you so much! Do you prefer the single (would buy 2 of this if I decide on it) or the pair for the Love studs? I know their dimensions are a bit different/backings too. Wondering what you personally have :)
yes, agree! Love studs are simple and so pretty at the same time. Comfortable to wear all the time!
@casiecn Thank you for sharing!! Seems like a popular choice :) 8F2E7DC5-77C7-4302-A278-F5036ECE9A98.pngABC4C94C-E560-49A7-A41F-EAF61C10FFFC.jpeg

@orbitallee You need to try the single Love studs on to see how you like them. They can be fiddly to put on at first, but after few times I’m fine with them. The balls are also very comfy to sleep in.
Thank you so much again!! Those are very good points, and the balls seem less prone to poking. I’m worried over time the screw/threaded post will become worn. Do you know if this is fixable? I think worst case I might try to just buy them (before the price increase lol) & try it out since I don’t live near a Cartier. Appreciate you again

The best thing is to try them on and see how you like them. I’ve had no problem with the threads and I’ve already had them for more than 2 years now.
Good luck and let us know what you’ve decided!

Wow I’m happy to hear that the threads are still fine after years!! Will definitely try to purchase & keep you updated on the pick  Your opinion really helps, since I’ve been just relying on YouTube videos & photos. Very grateful for you!

You’re very welcome! Be aware that they can be a little loose in the earlobe as they are meant to be worn in any piercing hole in your ear. It doesn’t bother me because they are so comfortable and my ears are not very thin. Cartier can shorten the posts for you if you prefer. You do save 30% comparing to price of the pair of studs though :)

This is so thoughtful & detailed, thank you again!! I think my earlobes are on the thicker side (I should know this lol). The price point is a true...especially since the other option is just 1 mm bigger? If I choose to buy two of the single Love Earrings, I’ll let you know how it goes :)
