Ok here's my detailed feedback from my personal experience. I am 5'2" maybe 130ish-140ish lbs in these pics. I have a toddler who is 4 years old.

First about the leathers:
Togo
Pros: durable/hardy, maintains shape when stored properly, water resistant, has a supple organic feel, suits the more casual Birkin retourne style. This leather is a great beginner leather IMO because it's relatively worry free and wears well.
Cons: can have a "dry" matte look, some will have more veins if that bothers you, heavier than epsom

Epsom:
Pros: takes color well, light, water resistant, suits small rigid styles IMO - like Constance, mini Kelly, KP, KC, etc
Cons: feels stiff, rigid, not a "rich, natural" feel to me, plasticky. So if you can imagine that leather on a bigger bag, it makes that bag boxier/bigger, which may make the edges prone to bumping into things, doesn't wear well in Birkin retourne style IMO (is H still making Birkin retourne in epsom? I don't have any personal experience with Birkin sellier). Of all my bags, my Birkin retourne in epsom have the most corner/edge wear. If not stored properly, the leather also ends up undulating unnaturally in my opinion, on the Birkin retourne.

Now onto sizes:
B30
Pros: great size, not too big, not too small, fits all essentials and more. Handles fit easily over my arm and can be carried at the crook of the elbow for hands free option.
Cons: can be heavier especially when filled up, more of a casual day bag, too big for evening event

B25 -
Pros: fits all essentials, cute size that can go from day to night
Cons: Handles. It does not fit easily on the arm, definitely can't be carried at the crook of my elbow (maybe you can because you're thinner), more like a wrist and hand carry for me. If you wear a lot of watches and bracelets, you have to be careful when putting it on your wrist so it doesn't scratch the leather. This size is hard with a toddler IMO.

Modeling pics:
B30 epsom, this bag is 9 years old and still in good shape but edges have more wear than any of my other bags

B30 Togo, this bag is 7 years old and is perfect to me. It literally looks almost as good as the day I got it. It stands on its own and doesn't slouch. I store it with air bags and lay on its side. Hand and elbow carry:

B25 epsom, this bag is 5 years old and has more wear on the edges than my B30 Togo (and I use my B30 Togo more than this B25).
Hand and wrist carry:

Bottom line: I personally will never buy another Birkin retourne in epsom again. The saving grace for my 2 are that I love the colors (Soufre and Rose Azalee).

After this novel, I hope it helps

I have both and have to say that I'm not adverse to epsom as others are on this forum. If you like Chanel caviar, then you might like epsom too. I think as a mom of 2, a B30 would be more practical. If you tend to carry more stuff then I say epsom mainly for the weight. However, it doesn't seem like you carry too much since you use the Chanel mini daily, so in that sense the 25 might be a good fit. Togo to me is more casual and in B30 would definitely be a more casual look. I echo the other suggestions and see if you can try on the 2 sizes to get a better idea on fit/size as you really need to see how it would work with your lifestyle/needs.

Btw, @carlinha, I love your whole look in your first picture!

Thank you so much!

Definitely agree about being able to try on, and sometimes no matter how much we plan, it ends up being a trial and error and learning over time what we prefer. It has definitely been that way for me!

@carlinha , love your action pics and detailed explanation.

OP, have you thought about a K25? That would be hands free; still somewhat roomy.

i don’t normally carry my B25 or K25 at night mainly bc I need to clip a bag to the table and they’re bulky. Also I really only carry a card case and phone lol. But for a mom on the go, the extra space might be nice :)

Just wanted to come back and say again how gorgeous you are, and how great your explanation is :)
Love all your pics and your entire post!

am thinking either TOGO B25 OR EPSOM 30

I love my epsom B25 black PHW

I don't have any personal experience with Birkin sellier

@carlinha, i think the B25 sellier is the best of both worlds, but I am not very practical and I hardly ever carry anything bulky. B25 epsom sellier; B30 vache liegee retourne; B35 clemence and B35 toile; all three sizes. I am 5’2, medium build, broad shouldered, about size 38 EU. The larger B sizes make a person look thinner

Thank you! Yes I agree, the K25 is a great bag and size! Shoulder strap is always helpful for a mom on the go.

Thank you, yes but so so old. Almost 9-10 years ago?? I love it but sadly doesn't fit me anymore :P

Wow your B25 sellier looks stunning! Is that gold? I'll admit I never really considered the sellier Birkin but yours looks so good.

Thanks. Yes, it’s a gold epsom Birkin 25 sellier. I’m 5’2, medium build

I think this really depends on your style and how you plan to wear the bag

I find B25 is super versatile especially in black
The size can be used for most situations and I haven’t found mine losing it’s shape
It’s also IMO very youthful and fun

I have a b30 in Epsom in black and I have never once worn it! Too structured, too big, too stiff and I don’t like Epsom in birkin except the sellier b25. I also find it too smart looking, too ‘office’ and difficult to dress down (because of the Epsom you don’t have that ‘slouchy’ relaxed vibe)

So it comes down to how you dress. I dress casually when I wear my birkins. Frame is not that important as lots of tall people can carry off a b25 and I’m 172cm and it’s fine on me. Whether you can wear it on the crook of your arm depends on the individual but I have no issues and I always wear a watch and wear it both ways

Epsom is a great leather IMO as you don’t need to worry about it too much but I find it just as hardy as Togo. I wear Togo and Epsom equally
This was super helpful. I love Birkins in retourne for the slouchy look and I love Epsom. But given the stiffness, I imagined it would not work well in this combo. Thank you for clarifying this.
