I am wanting to purchase first birkin.

Only in Black With PHW but can't decide size and leather haha

I am thinking either TOGO B25 OR EPSOM 30

Pros and cons please and just what you think? I should do.

I'm 5'4 and 114lbs.

I use a chanel mini daily but also have larger bags and backpacks like the jumbo and business affinity backpack I use. All in caviar leather.

I use medium flaps to go out usually.

I am really just researching at this point since I can't decide lol thanks ladies

I'd prefer a B30 in Togo leather. But it would be best if you could try it on if a family member/friend of yours has it. If not, maybe you can go to a pre-loved/consignment bag store and see what you really love.

I have the Evelyn GM in togo. And I like the feel. Never touched epsom in a bag.

I am a mom of 2 and am just torn on which birkin to purchase. Lol I've been going back and forth with the combos

I just dont want it to look too massive on me but im worried more about structure through the years.

Is structure going to change a lot though? I don't know why I am going back and fourth with leathers and sizes.

I guess the size part is I'd like to hold it on crook of arm.

I can hold the B25 on the crook of the arm. If you can try them on IRL, at the boutique or other store, that would be best. If an Evelyne GM is not too big, I think a B30 would be fine. So long as you do not overload a Togo 30B, I don’t think it will lose shape. But, the 30B togo will be heavier

Also, I was just at lunch with another TPF buddy, and I knocked a glass of water onto my epsom 25K. No harm.

The Evelyn is big lol . I now use the chanel rectangular mini for everyday use.

But epsom in 30 is okay? Would it look comparable to the togo 25 due to slouchiness?

Which bag is best will depend what you plan to use it for? How much do you need to carry?

FWIW, I am similarly sized to you and I have an Epsom B30, I think it would look fine on you. I also had reservations about Epsom and I’m still not wild about how it feels, however I don’t like my bags to slouch and so far my B looks as good as the day it left the boutique 12 months ago.

Epsom is much stiffer than togo. B30 in epsom will look boxy and even cumbersome when you are holding your kiddos? I'm on the petite side and I struggle to wear the B25 on the crook of my arm, especially when I wear a watch. That's why I rejected a B25 when offered as my first birkin. I'd prefer to hold the B25 like a tote. Hence, I think a B30 in togo maybe easier to wear as a mother of 2

I think this really depends on your style and how you plan to wear the bag

I find B25 is super versatile especially in black
The size can be used for most situations and I haven’t found mine losing it’s shape
It’s also IMO very youthful and fun

I have a b30 in Epsom in black and I have never once worn it! Too structured, too big, too stiff and I don’t like Epsom in birkin except the sellier b25. I also find it too smart looking, too ‘office’ and difficult to dress down (because of the Epsom you don’t have that ‘slouchy’ relaxed vibe)

So it comes down to how you dress. I dress casually when I wear my birkins. Frame is not that important as lots of tall people can carry off a b25 and I’m 172cm and it’s fine on me. Whether you can wear it on the crook of your arm depends on the individual but I have no issues and I always wear a watch and wear it both ways

Epsom is a great leather IMO as you don’t need to worry about it too much but I find it just as hardy as Togo. I wear Togo and Epsom equally
