No kidding. I have NEVER had problems with SP prior to now. I am really anxious to discuss with them so they can hear how displeased I am. I am going to be extremely upset if I have to wait longer than 2 weeks for this to be redone, the width isn't the same all the way around as I asked either.

They should give you some kind of discount for your troubles. If it makes you feel any better I had to bring MY brand new Tiffany e ting in this week to fix the eye-visible dings the idiots they had doing the sizing left on the top of the band!! So annoyed - had to drag 2 kids across the city to drop it off and will again to pick up. can't believe they dinged the platinum off site and then that tiffany's didn't notice it before calling me. sigh. not acceptabel!!!

Hell, AME...how disappointing. But you've waited this long, so get everything done and you'll eventually get the band of your dreams...that is PERFECT!!! I'd give them a call and let them know you want this done ASAP and they pay for shipping and insurance. Good luck!

Sorry about your troubles. It's such a pain. I'm having a problem with my e-ring setting. My boyfriend and I went to the city last weekend and I noticed that one of the channel set stones was lower than the other and metal was covering most of it. Ordered a new one and the jeweler did a horrible job and a stone popped out. He did a quick fix by putting a smaller stone in and filling in the gap with metal. My diamond guy said the work was horrible so he sent it back and told the jeweler to have it perfect and ready by Saturday. We will see... Why don't people check the quality of their work first??

Some people have different definitions for what is good and what is not. It's a shame they don't all share mine ;)

I had an email around 945 apologizing for the issues and asking me to send back and they would reimburse me for all shipping as well as get it first in line. We'll see. I shipped out today overnight express so hopefully when they check it out Monday it's easily taken care of, and done right.

Ok I have more time now. I felt total deflation when it showed up. I mean...I have bought from them many times and never before have I had this issue. Hell, one of the diamonds in my original band from them I didn't love the cut on, sent it back, they swapped it right out. In this one I especially requested H&As be used if at all possible or some that were close to that. They specially ordered them in which sounds like it took a couple weeks, so considering they got them and they all look great, I shouldn't REALLY ***** about the 6 week window. I just wish they'd double or triple checked the setting to be sure before it was shipped, esp since they KNOW me. Hell one of the guys told me a year ago that I should move to NYC and be their QA person, and perhaps help them design stuff better. I really wish I could do that. I wonder if his offer still stands. I am a ways away from finishing my GG but that would be awesome. I'd weed out the good ones. ;)

I know John P, formerly of WF and now with Infinity, as well as Paul with Infinity were both impressed how I could pinpoint size visually and generally guess cut quality without having to "cup" the stone for light leakage. I also could read an ASET--though I can say that's PS learning. I should seriously just go do it. I could never pick up and move like that though. Man if they'd let me work from here and just go up twice a month to pick up/drop off...that would rock.

I have to say, I am NOT shocked AT ALL. After all the crap we went through with them for my first ering...not at all. Oblivious is the perfect word. And they were in no way apologetic for any inconvenience.

There are some people that just do not get it, and this case makes me sure of it. I cannot believe no one noticed. They noticed, they didn't give a care. Grr. I hope it's done. If it was not bad Id have had my local guy fix it probably. lol

i'm so sorry to hear this ame! i hope they give your some discount for your troubles! what kind of ring was it?

btw, what do SP and WF stand for?

ok, now i don't feel so lame. i was going to ask the same question. :blushing:

ame, i'm so sorry to hear after all of this time waiting, that it arrives with two loose stones. that is simply unacceptable. however, so you won't have to wait any longer, is there any way you could take it to a local, trusted jeweler to tighten the stones for you? this way you don't have to wait and it can be done in a few days locally? but of course, signed pieces should definitely reimburse you for this, but when i take my rings into my jeweler to check for loose stones, anytime he tightens them he only charges me $15–25, so it's not really that much. this way you won't have to ship again and wait and wait and wait...

just a thought.

either way, i hope it works out for you. please keep us posted!

EDIT: i just noticed you already sent out to signed pieces to repair. sorry about that. once again, i jump the gun with my replies before i read through the entire thread. lol

lol!

Fo me, there is no such thing as a local, trusted jeweler. I have literally gone to all the jewelers in this city and literally only one I will allow near my rings. There is one place I will let polish my plain bands. And occasionally my e-ring which is also "plain", but I usually send the rings from SP there once a year for checkups and polishes. I expect everyone to take supremely good care of my things and do what I ask of them exactly how I ask and to my specifications. No one here seems capable of listening or properly doing the work. Which is pretty damn sad. And even when they do it wrong they still expect full payment for the wrong part and the fix, despite the fact that THEY screwed up.
