I honestly don't think Star's medical issues are anyone's business. All people have the right to privacy in terms of their medical issues or procedures. Just because she is in the public eye she does not have to tell the world about what is going on with her medically. I think she could have just said, "I'd prefer not to discuss my private medical issues publically" instead of making up some story. I don't think that she should have been presssured to talk about it on the show if she didn't want to though.

I agree! And she didn't have to discuss it with her former co-stars either...

I agree! Patient confidentiality, respect, privacy, ethics...etc all make me believe that Star had her RIGHT to not discuss her medical issues. Walter and the others did not need to make up any lie/story about how she lost weight. It is no one's business!

IMO Barbara Walters is a hypocrite. She interviewed Monica Lewinsky in 1999 and asked her: "Did you ever think about what Hillary ******* might be feeling?" I lost respect for Miss Walters & Donald ***** during the View's brouhaha, and believe me I'm not a fan of Rosie O'Donnell, but I think ***** went too far and Barbara sat there scared.

Ita!

The View is an ongoing soap opera. Yes celebs are entitled to privacy, but to mislead people into thinking you lost weight one way when you didn't is wrong, IMO. I have no time for Baba Wawa. As others have said, she's a hypocrite. I make it a point to never watch her interview specials on tv.

i agree. but then starzilla should have just shut up about it, instead of inventing a huge lie about how she lost weight through portion control. next thing you know, she'll marry a flamboyantly gay man and try to pass it off as the perfect marriage... oh, wait ;)

babwa lost credibility eons ago but at least she has the longevity and career achievements. so she copped to an affair in the 1970s, big deal, it's her dirty laundry to air.
star's a z-list loser who burned all her bridges when she decided to leave the show in a public and embarrassing way, instead of leaving gracefully and quietly, as was offered her by babwa and her co-stars. they didn't like her and wanted to get rid of her, she should have had some dignity and left quietly but instead she had to play the victim.
the woman needs a little pride and dignity.
