What is your fav Coach satchel and why (current or discontinued)? I don't own any, but pondering getting one in black. I'm not a satchel girl, but I do find myself wanting to get one. Something that wouldn't be too heavy or too big and comfortably rest on the crook of my arm. Hmmm.... :thinkin:

I love satchels! :smile1: I like carrying them on my arm or handheld but I do require that the strap be long enough for shoulder wear when traveling.

A couple of my favorites are Candace (I have Black, Lemon, and Cognac). I loved the Legacy Haley but it was a bit too small for me. I recently found the Pinnacle Haley on FOS in Black which is bigger and has a long detachable shoulder strap and I love it.

Definitely small Sophia. The shape was perfect, it had a nice shape also when it slouched too. Nice wide opening, tons of textures and colors, light weight, holds a lot, and reasonably priced

Here is one of my many Sophias the small fuchsia in the front. In the rear is the Juliette Gathered in Magenta and Jade Patent Audrey. I like the look of Juliette but not my favorite and I only own the one. It can be heavy to arm carry and hard to get in/out of. Audrey came in one size and was between a small and large Sophia. The flat handles make it more comfy to arm carry and has most of the plus points of Sophia but I like the Sophia shape better

and since you mentioned black, here is my black Sophia when new, but I have carried her quite a bit and she still looks new. It is truly an all weather bag that you do not have to pre-treat and water just rolls off

I am not a fan of satchels but I do have 2 that I love, they are both Kristin Round Satchels 19297 (aka "baby sage" bags). These bags came in a variety of colors and materials but both of mine are crinkle patent. I have the rose patent and the pearl gray patent.

They come with a long strap that can be removed so that you can carry it only as a satchel, but I've used the steps below to shorten the strap so it can be carried as a shoulder bag if desired.

Since you are new to satchels you might want to get a convertible bag that will give you options (in case you discover that you really don't like to carry a satchel!) Good luck!

- Unhook both ends of the adjustable crossbody strap and remove it from the bag
- Unbuckle the strap so that it separates into 2 parts
- Pick up the long part and clip it to the ring on 1 side of the bag
- Thread the long strap through the ring on the other side of the bag
- Pick up the short piece and rebuckle it to the long piece of the strap
- Clip the buckled short end to the same side of the bag where the long piece is clipped
- Adjust the length of the new "shoulder strap" as needed by changing the buckle hole used

My favorite Coach satchel's are my New Willis bags. Satchels are my favorites and I love large clutches also. I always take off the straps.

Satchels are my favorite type of bag. I love the Madison satchels from a few years ago: Sabrina, Audrey, Sophia. I have several of them, but only one in black (the pleated Audrey).
