I love my big name designers; however, I'm also been a fan of the trend of smaller, artisanal lines. As these tend to be more obscure, I'm interested in finding out what brands are made/designed in your country that may not be known on the international scene.

My favorite find so far is by a company that's from LA and manufactures in El Paso called RTH. The leather, with its imperfections, is amazing and has such a beautiful quality to it. I have a clutch from them and I can imagine if I carried it every day, it would last and become more beautiful.

What are some of your local favorites?

Traditional Pickett is very good and more cool Dr Robert by Lee Miller. Both made entirely in the UK as are:

William and Son (related to Asprey some years back).
Asprey (lots of exotics with prices to match)
Ettinger (more for guys though)
Liberty's own line (dept store, though I'm not so keen on the latest bright coated canvas offerings and I'm not so sure they're made in the UK anymore)

Vlieger and van Dam: Love their designs, very edgy and funny. They are famous for their gun and knife embossed bags.
Loes Vrij: Her clutches are tdf and very well made. :)

Not Dutch though, but have to mention;
Liberty's Like papertiger already mentioned. Their monogram print is very cute.

They are made in Italy now. ;(

Wow, these are amazing. I'd heard of some previously, but never taken a proper look. I'm in awe of the details of some these: the intricacy of Liberty's prints, the box chain on Loes Vrij's Diavolino, the hardware and lining on Asprey. I could go on and on about them.

Question for those that have seen this in person, I have a friend who loves blues in the turquoise/aqua shades who's birthday is coming up soon. The green Liberty print appears to use blue and an aqua green on my monitor. Are my eyes allowing the blue and green to mix or would it be an appropriate print? Thanks!

On my screen the shade of leather is between a jade and leaf green with the blue and parchment print. It certainly looks more deep aqua from a distance.

In Germany:

Liebeskind Berlin ( www.liebeskind-berlin.com )

This was one of the brands that started my handbag obession a while ago when they were not so common yet. Now everyone has them over here and prices are increasing, which kind of made me move on. But I still have a few of their bags (which I have been wanting to add to my showcase for a while). Their designs are edgy and great, the leather is fantastic!

And: They have the most amazing shoe collection (which still like to buy) ♡♡♡
