I was following a patent reissue clutch for a while that went into sale with a discount of 10% from 2,420 to 2,180. Normally, an item will be further discounted to 20% if it doesn’t sell. I was procrastinating and debating whether to get it or not because of the material and how patent ages; this being a hand held item, it was a cause for concern. I almost bought it last night. I went on the website in the evening too many times and looked at the pictures. Ultimately, I decided to purchase it the next day so I went to bed.

Well, I woke up today to find the exact item with exact item number re-listed on the first page as a new listing with a new price of 2,420!. The interesting part is, it is now in 10 carts!. Perhaps new listings sell faster because buyers worry it will sell quickly so they make a rushed decision under pressure? Who knows. But clearly, Fashionphile brings back dusty items that aren’t selling to the front page with newly raised price to trigger a sell. I luckily took pictures so they can’t deny the did it. The Item number is 788573! See for yourself folks. First Picture was taken at 11:19pm last night and second one was taken around 9am this morning.

I work in sales and this is a pretty standard tactic and nothing to be mad about tbh. If you're mad at Fashionphile, you need to be mad at a lot of other companies lol and this isn't just an online thing, brick&mortar stores do this too by putting the items they're trying to move to the front. That's why when you walk in to a grocery store the first thing you see is the produce that is on sale and that they are trying to move.

That’s not the same thing at all. Fashionphile is listing a sale item as new listing with a newly inflated price. It’s not the same as bringing a sale item to the front page or to the front of the store. The website also has a filter that allows you to see listings from newest to oldest. So what’s the point of that if they do this?. The website also mentions about their discount system where it goes from 5% to 30% in increments of 5 depending on how long it’s been on the site. That’s clearly not the case.

The discount system I agree that's shady if they are deleting old items so people don't get that discount. But it is common to re-list items, there is nothing unethical about this.

Yes, I don’t have any problems if they re-list the same items 10 times a day if they need to but removing the discount and pretending like it’s a “ freshly in” item with a newly inflated price instead of honoring their own discount system is shady. That’s what I talked about in my post.

Yes, they have done this for a while. They also will take a product that someone bought when it was on sale and if the person returns it for what ever reason they will list it as new and at full or even a higher price. ( same for a product that no one buys at their outlet)

Sadly they would care more about making a few hundred bucks every chance they can then adhere to what an ethical person might deem a fair sales system.

It is not above board so, luckily they are not the only reseller out there!

The title of the thread is both inflammatory and defamatory, pairing Fashionphile with the word fakes. This will come up in online searches: was that your intention? It's pretty unfair. Aside from that, what you're describing is a standard business activity...if you don't like their methods, you can show that with your purchasing power.
Do you not know how to read? How is it defamatory if what I said is true?. You seem hell bent on somehow defending them yet You made no valid points so far comparing apples to oranges. Yes they fake a new listing. That’s what I said and that’s what I proved. Whatever you’re implying is not said or implied. Let’s stay in reality.

I’m not seeing "inflation" - they removed the discount and it’s back at the original price.

IME there is a hard limit at the big resellers with discounting brands like Chanel and H. (i.e., progressive discounts don’t apply - the items are allowed to stay on longer without being drastically marked down.)

I don’t see anything here that could be in any way considered "fake."

I never said any item is fake. What is the matter with you?. It’s hilarious the length you’re going to make it seem like I did. Read. Re-read if you need to. You don’t have to agree with my opinions but don’t fabricate something I never said just to continue arguing. It’s ridiculous.

I am referring to the title of your thread, and it was my only reply so I don’t see how that would allow me to “continue arguing.”

I'm pretty sure what happened here is that someone bought it (probably a knee-jerk reaction to the 10% off sale items discount) and then had buyers remorse and cancelled it. Fashionphile just automatically reposts the listing when the order is cancelled, so it retains the number of anyone who had previously liked/put it in their cart. But yeah, it going back to full price sucks.

100% this is what happened. They are having that 10% sale so someone bought it and canceled the sale and it goes back to full price. If you watch the cart people will likely drop it now. The same thing happened last night to an item I was watching; it was eligible for the 10% extra today but someone bought it last night and then canceled their purchase so it's full price again and I won't purchase it now. The real loser in this is Fashionphile tbh, because they lose a legit sale from someone when they allow that cancellation option and relist at full price.
