Thank you! I've been doing a lot of work with South Sea & Tahitian Pearls lately and I can't tell you how much I have grown to love them. I dig through boxes and boxes of loose pearls to match pairs together and I really enjoy seeing some of the startling natural occurances in color. I especially love pistachio greens and sky-medium blues.

That is a fantastic idea Oregon Lisa.... about using pink sapphires.

I also wanted to add TDuck, pink diamond melee can range in price. Some Jewelers automatically think deep intense fancy pink which is HUGE $$$. ($20-30,000 a carat!!!)

You should shop around... look at parcels of light fancy pink, fancy brownish-pink, fancy orangy-pink, fancy purplish-pink, argyle pink diamonds. The price varies a lot. I've seen 1.5mm Fancy Light Pink for $1800-2000 per carat. Many micro-set halo rings would require anywhere from .24 carat to .66 carats of Pink Diamonds.
That would mean that it would cost you about $432.

Thanks very much, Japster! My jeweler said that the problem is that HK doesn't receive many clean small pink diamonds that can be made into micro halos. I'll talk to her about the pink sapphires the next time I go see her tho.

Oh. My. Gosh! That is amazing!! Huge news!! Thank you for the insight, Japster!! I know that jewelers use Rose Gold to enhance the color, but I didn't realize that the price for lighter pink diamonds was so little!

hi there my friend japster!!! i love southsea and tahitian pearls too!!! have both, but my fave is still the southsea white pearl...the bigger the better, of course!!! i'm obssessed with big ones mounted in diamonds as a right hand ring! it makes any outfit look so classy and chic!

anyways, i love colored diamonds too. have always loved the fancy yellow ones. i recently was offered a 7 carat fancy intense yellow in the most gorgeous vintage like setting, but had to pass cause there was no cert. what a bummer....great price too (no wonder, DUH!). LOL
