I think they were trying to get a leg up on the competition seeing that the saddle bag is one of the trends for the Fall. If they debuted them at NYFW and made them available for purchase, even for a short period of time, then when Spring rolls around they won't seem like they are late to the party or just jumping on a bandwagon.

Very good point. I think they could have posted the details about the short availability window on the website. It can alienate customers to have something pop up and disappear without warning. To be clear, I think the limited availability was kind of a smart way to build excitement and a sense of exclusivity, it just would have been nice if they had communicated the details better.

I feel very lucky that I happened to make a visit to the Rodeo Drive boutique yesterday to check these out in person. I had no idea it was the last day of availability, so I'm relieved I managed to get my medium Tabac/Carmine bag before they all disappeared. The saddle bags are simply stunning. Beautiful quality, smart features, incredibly soft leather.

Called CS today to ask about the possibility of cornflower and beechwood in the Nomad. She said she could see them as possible colors but no availability date. They both would have dark nickel hardware if made. She said eggplant will have silver hardware and be available mid-December.
