Fakes Birkin vs kelly

That would very likely be a futile attempt. I don't think any Hermes manager would allow that, unless the bag is in the showcase. And even then, you may be denied the opportunity to hold and touch one, if you don't have a relationship with the store.

touching and holding probably not, hence my advice to "look" very closely... looking is not a problem at most H boutiques even if they state that their exotics allocation is all taken; croc is a high value item that customers may reasonably expect to be shown an example of before ordering their first one... useful way for a serious intended customer to build a relationship actually

post pictures of the actual bag. it can be very hard to see if fake or not! there are very good fakes out there but "perfect" no !

for yourself to decide and see it well that depends on your experiences with croc ,treatment, species etc but i say unless you know your exotics inside out and have handles dozens and dozens of skins personally i would say it is hard

the problem with looking at one bag is highly toublesome especially with croc aka each skin can vary dramatically in pattern thus each bag that comes in is a "surprise" as i always say you see a croc you love buy it right there chances are you never will se it again!

^ true, very true...still trying to console myself over a cute little one i passed on taking recently.. got a call, said no thank you, changed my mind a day later and it was sold but they showed it to me, so pretty.... major pouting :pout: !

If only it is true :nogood:

yup you can consider yourself lucky if you can even see a color swatch before ordering. mostly you order a new color based on description as the leather book is seriously outdated in lots of boutiques or they do not get the swatches or the hide them lol etc.

Really? I'm going to Paris, in a couple of weeks and was hoping to be able to see a swatch of matte vert olive croc. As I will only probably ever have one croc bag, I was hoping to at least see a swatch to reassure myself I was absolutely making the right choice

hmm, before i got my first croc, they showed me another croc bag in a different colour from what i was thinking of from the back, one look was sufficient to convert me, not same color, but at least i could see the beauty imho of h crocs.... agree that no boutique seems to have a full color swatch book though..

anyway practically every biggish boutique has a diamond croc in showcase these days so hopefully the OP can see what real h croc looks like to aid her purchasing decision from her friend.

Our diamond crocs do not get displayed. They are kept shrink wrapped. And they sell quickly.

And croc bags are in HUGE demand here, so there is almost zero chance of seeing one in our showcase, unless it's in a more discreet bag style that only H collectors appreciate. In bag styles like the Kellys and Birkins, no way.

Every piece of croc ... snapped up pronto.

Croc scales are unique and one of a kind. No two crocs are alike. Like our thumb prints, if you like. I personally think eBay is the best site to go to, to familiarise yourselves with H croc and colours.

An alternative would be, to ask the SAs to show you croc accessories like wallets and agendas.

And of course, we need our favourite ladies to post their croc acquisitions here. I have benefitted so much seeing pictures of croc birkins from DiamondS, ILML, Vernilover, whitebirkin, archangel, angel, etc ....

Thank you everyone!!! This bag I believe is alligator and has a "box" symbol vs "^" symbol. It seems to be harder to find pics of these. Does hermes alligator have a sent I should look out for??

A "box" is alligator, you are right. If you make use of the search function, or go straight to the Reference Section, you will find pics. A matte amethyst 35B alligator comes to mind .... think that was oreganfanlisa's.

You really have to see the bag in itself. Scale formation is seriously very different on every single piece. You may like what you see in one picture, and the bag you get offered looks nothing close.

There are two in Paris, one in George V, one in Feaubourg: 66000€ told me my husband
