Eyerolls and "don't you have enough bags" remarks

Hello, I'm Brett, and I'm new to the site, but not the world of bags and I think I have found a place to call home. I'm desperate for someone to talk shop with. My Mom thinks I'm weird because I'm a guy and apparently I'm not supposed to have better bags than her. And my partner thinks I have too many and would faint if he knew how much I have really spent on bags in the last six months alone (I fib a bit on that, not because of any financial issues, but because I don't want to hear him carry on about it).

This was not meant to be a depressing topic, more tongue in cheek, but I really get tired of defending my hobby. Anybody else getting strange looks, eyerolls, or worse?

Incidentally, I recently tried to stay away from bags, it lasted less than 24 hours, admittedly it was not a serious effort.

I think most of us have seen our share of eye rolls and heard enough comments about the amount and/or the prices of bags we have. Luckily we have our community where anyone can feel free to talk and obsess about bags!

Hi and welcome, you've come to the right place for sure. I keep a pretty low profile with family etc. when it comes to prices (and I buy pre-loved, they'd still think I was crazy). Not everyone is as bag-obsessed in my circle as I am so the forum here is a great place to find like-minded bag crazies. Also a ton of info in the various threads, let us know if you need help navigating anything!
