I'm planning on traveling to japan for this. I don't speak Japanese and I know most clinics in Japan don't cater to foreigners. Actually they may even refuse to due to liability and all that.

I want it done in Kyoto and prefer Japan over Korea because I like their aesthetic more. Can anyone recommend a clinic in Kyoto or have any experience?

I've got thick lids but I've heard your shouldn't remove fat... Is this true?

Are you going from US? I would be really interested in hearing your experience, price, and photos after!

I cannot give a personal recommendation but I was also considering between Japan and Korea.

In Japan, I had narrowed it down to shonan beauty clinic because I saw a few girls mention it on this board for basic procedures, it has their prices and explanations clearly laid out on their website (better to use the Japanese one and translate function bc the their English site is much more limited in what they offer. I wasn't able to determine if that's because they only offer certain things to foriegners, or if they just hadn't translated the entire site bc they get less tourism?).

They also have a USA branch opening, but the services are very limited and the prices are 2x higher right now than the Japan branches (in USD at current exchange rate)

USA / Irvine site: 1 option only "forever" double eyelid special is $2,800.
Japan / English site: 2 options only, "forever" double eyelid is $1,400
Japan / Japanese site: 8-10 options with prices from $100 and up

Hi! Even though the US branch has higher prices, wouldn't it still be cheaper getting it done in the US because you can fly to California to get the procedure done and then fly home right away? No need to worry about food and hotel prices. This is assuming you are American. Thanks for introducing shonan clinic. I'm in the US and this looks promising.

yes, it probably would make more sense if just for the eyes and the one method the us branch has (versus the many other eye options not just for eyelid but for ptosis and canthoplasty options). but i am wanting to do a few different procedures as well as take a little vacation. so for me it makes more sense to travel. I no longer live in LA but used to, but generally plastic surgery and lodging is more expensive compared to Asia and the current exchange rate is pretty good in favor of US. So for the savings on DES, BA, and injectable, etc, even adding the flight and hotel would be less than LA prices and hotel for recovery. Plus, I don't love the "LA face" a lot of people end up with (lol).

it goes much higher but yeah right now the most basic thing is 1600 yen which is about 115 us for both eyes what they call 1 point, 3 years warranty. i'm not sure what this means as i'm looking at more intensive.

it is https://www.s-b-c.net/

Had a quick look and from what I can tell it is non incisional double eyelid surgery. I think the 1 vs 2 vs 3 points has to do with how many attachment points are used (not sure about this)… also not says you cannot choose the doctor and if you look at their profiles there is only one plastic surgeon, the others have different backgrounds. They only guarantee that surgery for 3 years as I don’t think it’s considered a permanent “surgery” - there is no cutting.
