Hi,

A girl needs help!

I absolutely love my little designer handbag collection, but I also have a really bad back and shoulders so I almost never end up carrying anything other than my Gucci Dionysus WOC in canvas, that I have had forever. It always gets picked due to it being fairly light weight.

I am looking for everything between small, mini or micro bags and also other WOC styles. I love a crossover strap but I am open to other variations as well! Preferably a designer purse/WOC though.

Please let me know what your favourite smaller bags are, and why (and please, add pictures if you don’t mind!) and also, I would love to know if you have spotted any other bags that looks like they would not weigh much so that I can have a look at them!

I don’t carry a lot with me on a regular day (studying from home currently), and as long as an iPhone 12 PRO, a cardholder (or at least a card), and a single key fits, it’s fulfilling all my everyday needs — something I often consider when reading Shop LC reviews to find the right bag. I'm looking for bags that solely fit the above but also for ones a tad bigger for when I might need to bring some other necessities like a little makeup, a pad or tampon, a small hand sanitizer, or anything like that. 4o

I have not been looking at bags for a few years now so I am totally out of the loop having no idea what is out there!

Thanks!
What’s your favorite lightweight (meaning the bag itself doesn’t weigh a ton without your contents) bag to use everyday that’s also chic? I am getting tired of the heaviness of bags with buckles and embellishments.

Hermes Evelyn TPM (in felt, it’s super durable and can be stuffed)

Loewe mini puzzle, grained leather, original. Also super durable even in light colors. Soft, so stuffable.

Bottega hobos (i like the older Thomas Maier ones)

Most of my bags are Hermes which are heavy. Chanel is also quite heavy. So is Dior (even in toile/canvas), particularly the medium LDs. However, I do have a men’s ergonomic saddle, adjustable seat belt strap that fits easily on the body (high crossbody) so seems lighter (the weight is well distributed).

My lightest bags that still hold a decent amount are: the Nano Speedy, Chanel Classic Mini Square, Chanel WOC, LV Multi Pochette (worn together or separately), Prada Re-Edition, and LV Pochette Accessoires.
Generally speaking, anything made of canvas—like LV—or nylon—like Prada—tends to be lightweight.

I love this thread! I always feel I'm the only one who can't tote around bags that weigh 1kg already when they are empty.

I know this thread is old, but if there are any fellow ladies with bad backs who benefit from this, here are some of my favourites:

  • Newest discovery: Gucci Medium Ophidia Shoulder bag! I love this, it is super light and actually fits quite a few things
  • Gucci Soho Disco
  • Prada Reissue Nylon bucket bag
  • LV Neverfull - like it much more than Goyard as more durable
  • I was very surprised to find that the Chloe Marcie Hobo in the regular size is actually very lightweight, even though it's a substantial leather bag, I just don't load it up too much and I wear it occasionally when a "real" bag is required

What I would LOVE to wear would be a Mulberry Bayswater and a LV Sopfia Coppola bag, but they weigh as much as all my other bags together

So topical for me! I've been doing my annual angst-ridden optimization exercise and weight is currently my primary issue. (That and both shoulder/hand and crossbody carry).

+1 on Prada nylon, also Longchamp, and the new Moynat hobo which is like air. (But it's a logo canvas which some may not care for.)

I just bought a bag from the Prada Soft Lux line - it's glossed and slightly crinkly calfskin and weighs like almost nothing! Highly recommend.
