I bought my first (2) LV bags last august. I promptly stored them in their boxes and didn't plan to use them right away. I've used my DE speedy 30 3 or 4 times maybe and I love her! My delightful I've removed from the box maybe 3 times to admire, sit on the shoulder and packed items in to get the feel. Call me crazy but I wanted to keep my bags new and just wasn't ready to use them. So recently during a visit to LV, my SA said that I should store it in the dust bag not the box to avoid any issues. So I took it out of the bag and noticed very very faint spots along the trim. Also there is something odd on the strap- a very small area on the glazing is "disturbed". I believe I was sold a used bag because I have not carried it yet! There are no issues from it being boxed. Do you think there is any possible way this bag would be replaced? I feel slightly embarrassed waiting so long...and of course I am well beyond the exchange period. But I didn't inspect the bag properly. I trusted LV and didn't think I needed to look for damages. With my latest purchases, made sure to look closely at every single piece and they are all fine. What do you think? Get over it? Or request an exchange? Here are the pics:

And here are the faint spots along the trim. I don't know what to say about the rippling under the handle. I just assumed it came from trying the bag on as it formed against my shoulder. I read that it happens and is normal.

The wrinkling is normal but the first pics of the dent would bother me. I don't think LV will allow the exchange after such a long period of time, though. Their policy is 30 days for an exchange but I did personally exchange a brand new item after 60 days (DH bought it very early for Christmas so it was sitting in the dustbag and box unused). Perhaps others will chime in with their experiences, but it wouldn't hurt to go to your local store and ask the store manager. Different managers make different exceptions. Good luck!!

Regardless of Lv exchange period, if the item is defected in any way, as per the first photo, then the exchange period is irrelevant and you can exchange for an item of satisfactory quality :) that's my experience anyway. I wouldn't be bothered about the wrinkling though

Knowing LV they can say it is normal wear. I doubt they will believe you saying you never used the bag after 6 months and will probably give you a hard time. The discoloration s in the leather seem to be normal perhaps from a hand touching the bag. I hope LV will listen to your concerns about the bag. I think everyone agrees one needs to inspect a bag at the time they receive it no matter who the designer, too many damaged bags being sent to people here on the forums.

I am not sure what LV will do. Its worth a shot. Take it in, explain the situation to them. Maybe they will let you exchange it for a new one. If not, its very small and i think if you really love the bag it should not bother you.

I don't see anything that is a defect. It looks like wear. They will not do an exchange now. So just enjoy the bags and use them as intended.

Honestly to me it looks like you might have closed the box on the part of the bag. There really is no way to know since it's been so long. Of course try an exchange, but with the other signs of wear (spots on trim might have come from you trying it on several times); I'm not sure how successful you'll be. It might be hard for them to accept that in 6 months you never wore it and just now noticed a flaw that was on the bag when you bought it. Maybe they will replace the strap for you.

Agreed, looking at it it's only minor IMO. But definitely shouldn't be like that as there is a chance that it might get worse. I would go in and explain. As above, maybe they will offer to repair for a small fee? I'd want to get it fixed if it were me.

Thanks for all of your responses. I'm sure I won't return to the boutique with it but I surely wanted to know what you sophisticated LV lovers would do. I can barely see any of the marks but knowing that I was given a less than perfect bag gets to me. Well at least I know that this will never happen to me again! I just wished I had looked closer when I first purchased it. I was definitely overwhelmed and hadn't planned to buy anything that day. And then left with two bags! If I decide to take it in, I'll let you all know what happens! Xo Lvoe's

I wouldn't worry about any of the issues. I've bought lots and lots of bags, and have yet to find one that is perfect. There will always be a wrinkle here, a bubble here, one stitch that it longer than the others, a misalignment etc...

People tend to assume that because Vuitton is expensive, they will be buying a perfect bag. But no, they are buying an expensive designer bag. Nothing is perfect. In the whole wide world and the history of humankind there isn't one thing that has achieved absolute perfection. It doesn't exist. So..I just love my bags, love to carry them, learn to love (or ignore) their little flaws etc...

I've got a lot of bags with weird little quirks, but I've never returned them for it. I just accept them as part of the bag and carry them and love them!
