Looking for opinions! I want a 17” to 18” gold necklace to wear as an everyday necklace or to layer with my 16” diamond and gold tiffany schlumberger Lynn pendant.

I’ve boiled it down to either an 18” 1.15 ct diamond solitaire pendant on an 18kt chain, OR a 17” gold paperclip chain necklace from Roberto coin.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

While I really like both, I would buy the diamond solitaire. That is a classic. While the paperclip necklace is gorgeous, I think it’s trendy.
I just bought a paperclip bracelet, but gold filled. I don’t think I would have invested in a real gold one because of the trend factor. But of course, that is just me. Maybe I don’t like the paperclip design enough not to care if it goes out of style. I certainly wear some jewelry that is not in fashion and I enjoy it tremendously.
Good luck with your decision and let us know what you chose in the end!

Thanks for the responses, all. I decided to cheat (just a bit) because I was able to get $450 off the paperclip necklace in the saks Black Friday sale (which was amazing, I thought) and decided to still get the diamond pendant for my February birthday (happy birthday to meeeee) because diamond prices are projected to rise quite a bit this year and I could either buy it now or buy it for significantly more in a few months (how’s that for justification? :graucho: ).

I’m already wearing the paperclip necklace a LOT- it’s so comfortable and I love the simplcity if it with its elegant lines- and am awaiting my custom pendant from Blue Nile. I’m pretty confident I’ll wear both necklaces quite a bit.

I appreciate this feedback quite a bit! Loving the paperclip necklace. As soon as I receive the pendant, I’ll post photos of both.
