Evelyne TGM

I am thinking of dipping my toes into Hermes - I know the Evelyne is a popular bag and was wondering if anyone has the largest (discontinued I think) size - the TGM and if they like it better than the PM or GM - I am a big, tall girl and carry a lot of stuff.

I think Hermes has started making the TGM again. It is really big. Clemence is heavy empty, so depending on how much you put it it, it is really heavy. However it may be the right bag for you, especially if you need to carry lots of stuff. I have one I occasionally use for travel, way too big for everyday for me.

I’m also tall & command a room. The PM looks great on my frame and the size is perfect, carries a small umbrella, wallet, keys, compact, phone glasses and coin purse with room to spare. The height of the bag makes it so big! It could also carry an iPad/tablet. If you’re looking to carry anything big though, like folios or laptops, or anything bulky or oddly shaped (it’s a rather slender bag) I’d recommend sizing up.

The GM might work well for you. The TGM really is quite big - there's one in Raisin at Madison (men's) now and I can only imagine it on a very tall person. I've tried to find the mod pix of TGM owners here but no luck - there definitely have been some,

I went through this same debate when I was shopping for my Evelyne years back. I was dying for the TGM, tried in on and was unsure...so I got the GM. I love my GM for traveling and daily use, it does hold everything! HOWEVER, my heart still sings when I see TGM so I may be jumping back on the TGM bandwagon.

If you have the chance to try them both, I would suggest you do so. Like others have said, the TGM is huge. Personally I would go with the GM. It holds a lot without being overwhelming. I really wanted a Gold Evelyn and my store had the TGM in Gold. My SA wouldn't even let me look at it. She said it was just too big. But again, it's a matter of personal taste! Good luck!

JWiseman, I could not rest until I had a TGM. Mine is black and that makes it look a tad smaller than a gold one.
I think it is killer for a man, and as I said, have tried to get my husband to carry it. He has carried my GM Good News bag.
Not that it matters, but Gold is my favorite color for an Evelyne. The white stitching and the casual look of gold are perfect for an Evelyne, IMO.

I used to carry the Balenciaga Work, which is huge. When I had a child I needed to change to a crossbody or something I could keep on my shoulder instead of carry on my arm or hands so that my hands were free to do all the mommy things. I looking for that, I came across the Evelyne GM and it worked perfect. It was big enough to carry all my things that were in my Work, which was a lot. So, in my opinion, the GM was big enough and I would think that the TGM would be too big. Also, it gets heavy the more you put in it, and in my experience, the bigger the bag I have, the more I try to cram in it.

To me the Balenciaga work was a good size - sold mine - I am thinking I will find a GM

The TGM is a beautiful bag but with that you need a lot of real estate to put in , its a humongous bag . I had my eye on one and after I saw it , I knew it was way to huge . I have 4 Evelynes GMs and works amazing foe daily use and also for travel .

I’m 5’6” and when I tried on a TGM it drowned me! I like big bags but it was much too much for me. I have GMs and I love them, there’s plenty of room for stuff and enough leather to give a lovely casual drape.
