Evelyne Epsom or Clemence

Chartreusian, I have a Prada saffiano wallet that has gone through such abuse over the years, yet still looks new. I love it. While I do not have an epsom bag, it appears Tpfers do not think it holds up as well. All ove the forum, there are complaints about scratches. Clemence is a bit heavier, but esp. in an evelyne, very durable And I’ve gotten mine pretty soaked with rain etc. I did recently buy my MIL an epsom evelyne bc they are known to be lightweight (she just had back surgery). I also got my DH a sellier evelyne in hunter leather which you should also check out; epsom and clemence are not the only options!

Thank you! I have basically settled on Clemence after the overwhelming consensus here. I did research the Sellier; I love the structure but the lack of texture irks me and I really love the perforated “H,” so Clemence it must be! I do like hearing that you got your husband one. I have worried that the bag looks too feminine (which I don’t want).

I have an Evy in Clemence and don't hesitate to use it in rain and snow (I do pat it dry once indoors, no reason to let it soak). It's very low maintenance. It does go soft, but with an Evy I think the slouchy look fits well.

Clemence is almost indestructible. If I told you what happened to my Evie you would not believe it (let's start with soaked through for hours), and it's fine.

I have or have had this leather in a Birkin, a Kelly, an Evie PM, and four Evie TPMs. It is VERY robust (will suffer edge wear if scuffed like any leather) and as far as I am concerned it's fine in rain. But SAs will never guarantee such a thing.

I understand that. It sounds like Clemence is the only option!

I had an epsom evelyne and it did not age well. Since then I have only purchased clemance. They take a beating as I tend to use them quite a bit to run around with the kids and they still look fab.

My bag is really soft and pliable, this is how it's supposed to be? It's very light, maybe they have made the leather thinner?

Yes, Clemence is very soft, especially in an Evie which is unlined.

Just to add for anyone else reading, you can go to Fashionphile and look at their selection of evelyne PMs. I can tell by just looking at the bags which ones are epsom. I would not purchase evelyne in epsom.

You could also add an organizer to the Clemence bag which will give it more structure. I have several and love them.

Hi! I have recently ordered a preloved Evelyne clemence 29 gen III because I wanted the outside pocket and adjustable strap to wear crossbody. Both because I like a bit of structure and reading about the lack of organization in the bag makes me think I should try an insert. What is the best reasonably priced inserts for shipping to US? Pros and cons of inserts? Thanks for everyone’s input.
