Evaluating exotic skin quality?

It looks like a prettier lady dior IMO.

I think it’s because of the minimalist hardware versus the LD.

The rogue also doesn’t have the annoying super tight zipped top.

I love both very much. I thought of this bag the first time I saw the coach! Might be a controversial opinion but I think coach's quality is superior to Dior, I am happy they are are involved in exotics.

@A bottle of Red, did it end up coming with CITES?

Some Dior bags are just major home runs though. Forever iconic… especially in croc

WOW. When was this produced?!
2007 under Galliano

A fellow TPFer has some stunning examples of it in her collection thread.

Wow, I should have known under Galliano. I miss when fashion was true art. Ugh.

No cites; it came from the nyc flagship store and I'm in the US so I guess it was not necessary.
The quality honestly surprised me in a good way I must say.
The skin is absolutely stunning, and the hardware is so solid and smooth.

I loooooove the Dior’s charms so that’s a selling point for me.

But IMO these two feel related but like different use cases. I think both (in differing materials) could live very happily in the same collection. Leaning more girly and precious with the LD and more edgy and bold with the Coach.

What a far cry from Dior nowadays
It’s a far cry from almost all “premier” bags now. They’re so cookie cutter and repetitive that I don’t even have one bag I crave right now. Innovation and art died with the rise of consolidation and the loss of both competition and skilled designers / artisans working in dedicated ateliers.

So cheers for Coach pushing the envelope on what a “contemporary” brand can offer.
