What they need to do is stop being so stingy with their B/Ks in the US. Stop expecting ppl to drop $10K on other things before offering them a B/K. It makes buying in the US that much less appealing. Prices in Europe are much lower and, although there's no guarantee that they will offer you a B/K, ppl are more than willing to try (it's Paris, after all!). If only it were at least easier to obtain a B/K in the US, that would at least offset the price disparity. More expensive, but easier to get, KWIM? Seriously, weren't there talks about plans to make B/Ks more readily available in the US to make up for the price difference, what happened?!!

Hope that would happen, but the day they make B/K easier to obtain, anywhere, they will say good bye to a good 25% to 30% of their sales. Worldwide.
You know... Ladies RTW, Home dept, Watches, etc... All that stuff they push outrageously.
Unless they put a TRUE amount of effort in making those stuff appealing and pricing them right, they won't see any spontaneous buyer in those dpts.

I spoke to my SA a couple of days ago about price increase for bags and she said they haven't had any official info, but she noticed that some SO Kellys that had just arrived did have a price increase , I can't remember the exact amount but she said it was quite consistent:cry: I asked her to let me know about B and K if and when she finds out.....In any case NOT good news!

I was told at Hermès Sevres boutique in Paris that prices will increase from August, because their leather suppliers increased their prices too.
I can see that Céline increased for the same reason in June, that has nothing to do with the annual regular increase apparently...
I just hope they won't try to do the same thing Chanel did (higher prices in europe, lower prices in Asia) to "regulate" their market, because there's absolutely no change regarding the customers waiting in line in Paris... But Hermès definitely needs to find a way of getting rid of these lines, a real nightmare for everyone.

What's the percentage that Celine increased? I hope Hermes doesn't go crazy.

I hope europe stores increase prices significantly so it's in line with asia and US. At least the resellers will not make a large profit and maybe more supply for the rest of us.

Went to pick up a few things today and no price increase here (Stockholm). I must say that I certainly hope that they do not increase prices significantly in Europe, not all European countries are part of the Euro-zone and here in Sweden, along with a lot of other countries, H is significantly more than in the Euro-zone already even though the discrepancy has gotten a little bit better lately.

Thanks Cinder - I absolutely agree - living in Switzerland where pricing is more in line with the US already. Although I think when posters say "Europe" they really mean France, and probably more specifically FSH location.
I also believe H appreciates the traffic at FSH. I doubt they want to discourage the travellers who come a few times per year and buy. It is a French company and I think people will always enjoy heading to the original source for a heritage piece in a city known for couture.

On Hermes.com watches have gone up in price. I was looking at a Cape Cod, which last week was priced at 2150 euro and now is 2300. It's just a minor price increase, but still... it's never ending...

Phew, the Victoria 35 at least hasn't gone up, it's still 3.300 Euro on the French, Belgian and Austrian websites... so not ALL bags are affected by the August increase!
