Etoupe Birkin 25, epsom or togo ???

Hi guys

Im thinking to buy Etoupe Birkin 25. I just got offer from my SA but I cannot decide which leather I should go for either Epsom or Togo.
I would like to know your opinion. What r the drawbacks of epsom and togo ? Please help

I didn't know H was still making B25s in Epsom right now.

I would go for Togo for Etoupe, personally, but it's really your personal preference.

I also prefer Togo. You should do a search here on Hermes leathers, you’ll find a lot of information and then you can make a decision based on your needs.

Togo. Togo Togo Togo. Nicer hand, will stay structured in that size, longer wear IMHO.

I had a wallet in epsom and it did not age well at all. I have a B30 in Togo that I got in 2013 and it's wearing beautifully.

Once upon a time, I would have said Togo. I have an etoupe 30B Togo from last year. I love it, but the color is more muddy than an older etoupe in clemence (on a 35 Victoria I). Recent Togo also looks kind of dry (but isn’t actually)

I never owned epsom until this year (I prefer heritage leather) but my craie mini Della cav and now my 25K epsom Bleu orage, go through some rain and daily grind pretty well.

i had a wallet in Pradas version of epsom that would not die (even though I would have preferred it to do so, bc I was tired of it)

I also had a kelly longue wallet in chèvre (super popular here) that was sad and floopy and flaccid.

so, it’s really an individual choice

I would say depends if it is a birkin sellier ( epsom)
Or not.
If birkin sellier 25 epsom, I will go for that. The birkin sellier 25 is special and a very beautiful bag. You gotta love that style though..

If both are standard birkin, I would go with the togo.

I know it’s not a birkin 25 but I found her info interesting and helpful.

I’m a person who loves structure in a bag so I’m partial to epsome leather but then again, I have never seen an epsome birkin in person so idealistically I would choose epsome.

Epsom is much stiffer than Togo and in a 25cm Birkin I feel it could make it very stiff and tricky to get in and out of and if you want to wear fit with the flap tucked in I feel it may prove challenging to do that with Epsom leather.

Between the two leather I prefer Togo because I personally like soft leather. Having said that I have seen someone with B25 Sellier Epsom Black/GHW and it was stunning. B Sellier looks even more tiny and pretty than B Retourne in my opinion.
