Eternity Band: Baguette or Emerald Cut Diamonds

Both are understated in comparison to more fiery cuts, but I prefer the slightly sparklier characteristics of the emerald cut. I don't view an emerald cut band to be "flashy" at all.

I like shiny and bold, mine is radiant cut, my favorite cut. Between the two I would chose Emerald, it seems more classic.
Not to complicate your decision but I agree with this post. I purchased a diamond eternity band myself just a few days ago.

I thought that I wanted an emerald cut stone. It has always felt so classic and elegant to me. In my eyes, it was a show stopping piece of jewelry, and truth be told, has been on my wishlist for years. I especially thought it was a no brainer when my SA pointed out that emerald stones tend to look larger than their actual carat weight due to the cut.

That is until I walked in to a second jeweler a few days later. There I mentioned being drawn to emerald cut eternity bands. The jeweler then asked if I had ever considered a radiant cut stone as it was his favorite cut on a diamond. WOW! The sparkle was blinding! In that moment I realized that I loved the crushed ice 'glitter' of a radiant cut over the mirrored effect of an emerald cut.

In my humble opinion the radiant sparkles like ice while an emerald stone looks like a mirror reflecting on itself. Obvs, one is no better than the other. Just personal taste - it's all subjective. And, as mentioned in previous replies, not to judge anyone's personal taste, I also feel that a channel setting is dated and doesn't give you as much bang for your buck :graucho:

My vote is for the prong set emerald eternity band. But I also say, go check out radiants. No matter what you decide, I'm sure you will wear it well!

Good luck in your decision making!

I have an eternity emerald cut and I love it. I wanted the bigger stone for the facets so it popped more and I am so happy with it. I haven't worn my engagement ring in years. The baguette is still a beautiful ring (I mean Marilyn wore it) but it depends on the look you are going for. The channel set is definitely more "secure/safer" than the prong set. But prongs are still sturdy nonetheless. You cant make a bad choice.

Hello, I am hoping you can give me your thoughts on two rings I am considering. I have an anniversary coming up and was wondering your thoughts on the two styles of eternity bands. Emerald cut or baguette style diamonds? I love that the baguette style because it is somewhat understated while the emerald cut band has a presence that is quite distinct. I don't see either style very often which makes both styles attractive to me. I am not a flashy person so I leaning toward the baguette style but somehow the emerald cut keeps calling me.

I would love to hear what you think about the bands, pros, cons or just what you like best. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I absolutely adore emerald cut eternity rings!!! The only reason I don’t have one is because I don’t like it with my round brilliant ering.

Did you ever get your ring? I would love to know what you chose. I just came across this and it is my 60th birthday in 2 months and I am just trying to decide what size stones I would like in an emerald cut band.
