I just got this Massaccesi tote last week. It’s the Victoria (without the flap). I like Massaccesi because You choose your leather type, color, hardware and lining color, plus other customizations at very reasonable prices. They have regular sales too!

Im really a tote girl mainly.....Ive fallen in love with the LV Neverfull...kinda have a thing for the Hermes Bolide which Ive found a Poon Switzerland thats similar....having never seen a Chanel in real life ever Im not sure if the style suits me.

There's a pretty big price difference between the Louis Vuitton Neverfull and the Hermes Bolide (kind of like comparing apples to oranges in my opinion).

The Neverfull is mainly canvas with leather trim, roughly runs about $1300-1400 USD depending on the size you pick, PM, MM or GM. This is a great choice for an entry level quality everyday designer bag!

The Hermes Bolide is all leather and depending on the size, prices range from $6,300-8,200 USD depending on the types of leather used. Craftsmanship and quality is great with all the Hermes bags I've seen.

You also mentioned Prada - I think that they do have some nice reasonably priced nylon bags that are great for everyday causal use. Most nylon bags range from $500-1,000 USD. I've heard the overall quality of Prada leather has declined.

Chanel is a little bit overpriced in my opinion and a little too formal for most settings. These bags don't scream casual everyday leather bag to me. Most leather bags from Chanel roughly run upwards of $3,400-7,000 USD.

Overall, I still conclude that the Neverfull is a great choice for an everyday entry level bag. If you have the chance I highly recommend doing some research on the bags you like and maybe try some styles on in person. You get a better feel for the bags and find what works for you. Good luck and welcome to the addiction!

I think Longchamp is great so highly recommend plus their prices range from $170-1k. Some lower cost but nice bags are made by Tory Burch too. I mean compared to Chanel, Louie or Fendi...Tory is half the price.

I know the feeling! I would love to have certain bags, but as a SAHM on one income it's hard to see so many beautiful bags I can't always have. I typically buy one high end bag a year and get little accessories throughout the year as well. But, I try to do my research and know what style I'm looking for also so I don't regret my purchase.

In the last 4 weeks or so Ive bought 4 bags on sale...total value NZ$250..just liked what I saw...but it got me thinking....that could have gone towards a better quality higher end bag...so will be putting money aside to fund my next buy in a few months....not sure what Im aiming to get.
I do a cull of bags every 6 months or so..as they are not expensive I usually take them to work and give them away...Ive had my enjoyment of them...now somebody else can enjoy them.
If they are not in that wonderful condition , which is not that often, I pass onto charity.

I use to collect a lot of contemporary designer bags such as Coach, MK, Rebecca Minkoff, etc. But, I agree that I feel like a lot of money was wasted on bags that I got bored with very quickly. I've been much more invested in researching and collecting Louis Vuitton bags the past few years. I've had a love for handbags for a long time so I do enjoy looking at other brands too like Gucci, Hermes, Prada, and even Chanel, even if I never buy any of these other brands. Some bags do seem a little overpriced for what you get, but it's all luxury though so these items are known to be very costly!
