I’m in a bit of a dilemma and would like your opinion ladies!

Option 1
Yellow diamond - photo is of a gorgeous Tiffany yellow diamond - something similar but custom made and with one less halo and clean band

Option 2
Classic oval solitaire - this was my initial preference but seems like everyone has one nowadays!

Option 3
Classic oval solitaire with halo - same as above, a bit more sparkly (the photo is gold but I want platinum)

Also do any of you have yellow diamonds/considered getting one? My fear is that it would be difficult to match on occasions and I might regret not getting something more traditional. My style is more classic with investment pieces (I work in a corporate environment in NYC) but i also feel like wearing the same ring as everyone is not me.

Appreciate your opinions
All of these styles are pretty classic and as such you are bound to see others with the same or similar designs. I personally like the solitaire because there are so many ways that you can customize it with semi mounts, bands etc. to make it your own. Ultimately choose what you love because you will have to live with it 24/7.

This is very true of course! Likewise, wishing everyone love and joy and thanks for sharing your thoughts and joining me in my ring journey!

Oh, I’m sorry, on reading that back it doesn’t sound the way I intended. I didn’t mean to downplay anything - they are all beautiful and I understand the angst over something you will wear daily for many years. And I love looking at pictures of them. I chose my words poorly - I only meant I wanted to make sure I acknowledged the rest!

I vote 3, my ering has a single halo set in platinum (cushion cut) and I absolutely love it. I did try an oval on, but it didnʻt look right on my fat finger, lol. I also tried a yellow diamond on, and as much as I love it, I admittedly need things to match and a yellow diamond would clash with some outfits and drive my crazy. Canʻt wait to see what you get.

Hi! I think you need to decide if you want the "ring setting" to be the star, or if you want the "diamond" to be the star.
For me, I like engagement rings to be all about the sparkly diamond. I am not a fan of melee diamonds on an e-ring such as a halo.

My first engagement ring was an oval, and I loved it.
I upgraded, and I went with a boring Tiffany classic round solitaire. Why a boring round?
The priority for my e-ring was sparkle, a perfectly cut round with super sparkle.

For pure sparkle, there is nothing like a perfectly cut round brilliant.
Ovals are gorgeous. I loved my oval, but what annoyed me is the bow-tie effect. My oval was a Lazare Kaplan, who perfected the oval cut proportions. Even then, it's hard to avoid a slight bow-tie due to the facet angles, so just FYI in case that might bother you in the future. If you decide to go with an oval, make sure it's cut well and be sure to pay attention to the bow-tie effect on the diamond.

Of your choices, I vote for the classic oval solitaire as the diamond is the star.
I am not a fan of halos as I feel they look dated. More importantly, for an e-ring, I also feel the reason why a person gets a halo is to make their diamod look bigger or add more sparkle to the ring. For me, I want my e-ring to be all about the diamond, a beautiful sparkly solitaire.

Just my two cents. Hope this helps in your decision, and congratulations!
