So, I've been having some weird issues with my ring. It's a platinum thin band. When I got it from my DF it was a 3.75. I had gotten measured previously so we thought it would fit. However, it was too big so it's gotten resized down to 3.25. When I got it back it seemed to fit a lot better but a few days later I noticed it wanting to spin around when I put dishes away. I realize that my hands and fingers and shrink due to cold but is there really such a big difference? Most of the times when my body is warm and my hands are warm it fits fine but when my hands are cold (as they often are) my ring want to spin.

Anyone else have an issue like this and is it normal? I never owned any other ring besides this one so I have no experience with how things should be fitting. I don't want to get it resized AGAIN if it's not really an issue. It doesn't fall off my finger as it won't go past my knuckle but there is a certain discomfort when the diamond is lodged between my pinky and ring finger...

Mine fits perfectly but spins too, this is normal especially when your fingers are wet or cold, or if you have a "top heavy" ring. Instead of getting it sized you can have a little bead added inside or have them square off the back of the band - near your palm - to prevent spinning.
I don't mind the spinning.

oh yeah, this happens to me all the time. for me, it depends on whether or not i ate something with sodium that day. it really does affect how my rings fit me. it's so weird.

and of course there's the obvious with the change of seasons. during the summer/warmer months, my rings are much more snug than they are during the winter/cooler months.

My ering spins when I wear it alone, but as soon as I put on my wedding band, it stops spinning unless it's REALLY cold outside (to me that's about 45 degrees :shame:). You might want to try it on with bands and see if it's a problem before you resize. Sizing beads can be added and removed by a reputable jeweler, so that might be a solution for you until you get a band.

I've read that the little beads can damage platinum?

If a decent bench jeweler laser-welds or melts platinum wire(solder) into the shank the right way, it's fine. And will easily come out if need be.

I have to have sizing beads in my rings because my knuckles are more than 1 full size larger than my actual finger is. So my rings need to be knuckle size and then get the sizing beads to fill the space.

this is definitely a common problem...

i have sizing beads in mine to prevent the spinning, and it helps 1000000%!!!!
here's a pic...

Awesome, I will check with the jeweler for the sizing beads. They mentioned that it can only be done in gold (maybe white gold) and not in platinum. Does that sound right? My ring is from Birks so I know they are reputable.

I have sizing beads in my ring too, though it's just 14k white gold, not platinum.

Your fit sounds pretty typical. I don't believe any ring is going to fit perfectly 100% of the time. The fit will changing depending on the temperature outside, if it's that time of the month or not (hello bloating *LOL*), how much salty food you ate that day (as onegirl mentioned), and all the other factors that make our bodies change from day to day, or even hour to hour. Isn't it fun being a girl? *LOL*

My ring spins too.

Mine has always been too large. I didn't want (and still don't) to have it resized so I bought a matching white gold band. Now the band is also too large. I've never heard of sizing beads ... is it something you can add or the ring just comes with them?

Mine only spins when I wear it on it's own. If with my wedding ring, it fits great. I guess the wedding ring bulks the ring fat "up" so my e-ring fits better!
