hello,

has anyone else had this problem? I gained a lot of weight and most of my necklaces don't fit. the rings either didn't change much or I could get them resized. however I find it embarrassing to need longer chains or extenders so I didn't wear any jewelry for several years. I've lost a fair amount of weight but have a long way to go. I'm hoping other people have decided it's OK to wear nice things b/c putting it off isn't working. thanks.

You need to enjoy your things no matter what your size!
I understand it can be a dilemma with resizing rings, but definitely adjust your necklaces. Multiple lengths are always a nice option.

I would just buy some of the extenders that clip to the existing ends of your necklaces. If you have longer hair, no one would see it anyhow. I've seen quite a few necklaces in stores that are actually made with an extender, and a lot of women do like to have some adjustability so that they can change the length of their necklace based on the neckline on certain blouses, etc. It's definitely not weird or uncommon.

Wear your jewelry and enjoy it! There's no need to feel self-conscious about something like that. I bet it would actually make you feel better to put your jewelry on again, rather than having it hiding in a jewelry box.

Why wouldn't it be ok to wear your jewelry? Just because you gained weight doesn't mean you should be "punished" and "not allowed" to wear things.

Get the extenders and enjoy your pretties. I'm heavier and can't stand tight necklaces so I alway fix them longer. For simplicity I mostly go with pendants and change out the chain to a longer one. Frankly the chains they put on even more expensive pendants are often junk and you'll improve the look of the pendant by putting it on a quality chain. You're not changing, you're upgrading.:p

Please don't fall into the trap of denying yourself things you love because you gained weight. I've been there, so I get it, but please know you are worthy to wear the same jewelry as always! Extenders are nice to have for layering, or picking the right length for your top. I know accessorizing always makes me feel better, even when I'm not 100% happy with my body.

THIS!!!!! ^^^^^ If I didn't wear my jewelry because of my weight, how on earth would I enjoy it? If you love it, wear it! What you wear is about making yourself happy, not some random observer.

I gained a lot of weight and still wore my jewelry, had rings re sized and luckily my necklaces were longer types.

If your goal is to lose weight, then you need to feel good about yourself. Fat shaming and punishing yourself is no good.
Wear the jewelry, makeup, nice clothes, bags, shoes ect. You are still you, shine girl!

Being a plus size girl I honestly could not have said it better!
