Earring Dilemma - Frivole and Lotus

I am hoping there are people out there who can help me to justify my purchase of the small lotus earrings (or convince me that I do not need them :lol:).

I currently have the small pave frivole in rose gold with pink sapphire and the small frivole in white gold (non-diamond version). I have always loved the lotus earrings and have enough saved currently to purchase them. However, I fear that they will be duplicative of the frivole earrings that I have - the rose gold because I already have pave covered and the white gold because I already have that metal covered.

White gold is my favorite metal (at least in earrings) - I also have a few non-VCA diamond earrings (studs and hoops), but I don't think these are in any way duplicative of the lotus.

Do you find that your current frivole earrings cover every eventuality, at present? Like do they go with all your other pieces or is there a gap where the frivole isn't suitable? If there is a gap would the lotus be more suitable in those circumstances?

Even if there isn't a gap, having other options is still good if you know that you love pave diamond flower studs, but are you the type of person who loves to change out earrings or do you just want to wear the same ones constantly?

if you saved enough money for the lotus earrings BUY THEM. These earrings are not duplicative in any sense. I have the small frivole both in YG and WG pave. The lotus is next on my list - they are stunning.

Yes, I have seen some of the posts of others have both pairs. And both are stunning! I just always fear buyer's remorse down the road...it's happened a few times :facepalm: So I wanted to get the thoughts of others who may have both pairs before biting the bullet on such a substantial purchase. They are earrings that have been on my wishlist for some time, but now that I'm actually in a position to buy them, I'm getting nervous!

I find that my wardrobe and lifestyle really are pretty consistent (and pretty casual), so as such, I can't say that there is a "gap" that these would fill. I rarely have formal events, but I tend to wear my pave frivole on a daily basis, so I do not think the pave or "bling" factor means they can't be worn everyday. And my formal events are so infrequent that I could never justify this kind of purchase just to be worn a couple of times a year.

I also prefer changing out earrings (the same cannot be said for my rings and bracelets). So all that to say that I think these are more just to add into the rotation rather than filling a gap per se.

You have great taste! I absolutely love my pave frivole. They go with everything! I always just fear buyer's remorse...plus the "opportunity cost" associated with an $18K purchase :wtf:

The lotus and rhe Frivole pave earrings are both two completely different looks in my mind especially since one is in WG and the other RG. With regards to both being pave, it’s actually a good thing to have an alternative for your pave Frivole earrings. I went through something similar when I was thinking of adding Frivole pave earrings in RG. I have the VA pave earrings and I have worn them almost non stop over the last few years I have had them so I was afraid I was being repetitive with the Frivole pave earrings. I was so wrong. My VA pave earrings are getting some much needed rest while I wear my Frivole earrings almost every day now. In the future, I see myself alternating easily between the two. They are more complementary than repetitive to me.

Agree with others that there’s room for both. I plan to add Lotus at some point. I think where it can get duplicative is in the same style, whether it’s having sweet/mini and small and large sizes in the same metal or owning pave and non pave - when you tend to always reach for a particular one that better suits your lifestyle.

I have the non pave WG Frivole earrings and it suits me so well casually and dressy that I am only considering pave in RG if I add another piece from that collection.

This is very helpful! It sounds like we will be earring twins at some point! I could easily justify both the rose gold pave frivole and white gold (non-pave) frivole because they are totally different looks. I agree that having many earrings from the same line gets to be duplicative (at least for me). I couldn't even justify getting the white gold pave frivole when I already have the rose gold pave. But I think I have been convinced that the lotus are a different enough look to justify adding them.
