Just got a SLG from Chanel Barcelona, and when i went back to the hotel i realized the SA filled my address incorrectly ( wrong spelling, wrong floor) on the tax form (credit card refund). I will be leaving tmr ( 9 am flight)
Do you guys think i shd pop back into Chanel to ask for a new form or just correct the bits that she typed wrong? Would my alteration make the form invalid? Thanks for the help!!

If you can go in and get it fixed, I would. I had a small VAT refund form with 1 digit of my address wrong and never got the refund and can't get anyone at Global Blue to answer my inquiries about it.

I don't think it's a issue if your getting your refund at the airport only if your mailing it

Slightly annoyed with GlobalBlue! Shafting me on the refund - which was supposed to be in Euros. They converted it to GBP on the refund on my CC, even though my purchase was made in France. I thought it would be refunded in currency purchased?

I visited UK and Paris over a month ago. Flew in and out of UK, so that's where I got my customs stamp. Put my papers in the RoyalMail. My purchase was made in France though, and the paperwork says 492euro refund due. I'm guessing they did that to screw me on the conversion rate. Or do you get refund based on currency of country you're in?

btw global blue took over 4 weeks, and premier took about 3 weeks (bc it had to be mailed back to France?)

I noticed that too on my refunds from July (which all scanned on Pablo machine fine). Had a nightmare dealing with global blue with a "lost" refund back in March too. I had to tell them I'd email them every single week until this issue is resolved because I repeatedly sent a photo of the form with the customs stamp on it when they couldn't locate my mailed in form (Pablo rejected it so had to mail it).

If there ever is a next time, I might opt for cash refund.

Side note.. It's best to mail each form separately because, as previously said on this thread, they separate it and mail it to whatever destination it needs to go.

Did you use an American Express card? If so, Global Blue says this:
In case of AMEX credit card, it will be credited in British Pounds (GBP). AMEX will make conversion to the currency in which your credit card is issued.

All other credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, etc.) will be credited back in the currency in which the card was issued so you would go directly from Euros to U.S. Dollars if you are from the U.S. as an example.

Ah, yes, it was an American Express card. Thanks for clarifying!

It's frustrating though, isn't it, that this isn't made more clear? I only figured this out after digging through Global Blue's site a few months ago. I've gotten tired of their processing delays and buried fees so it's all cash refunds for me going forward.

Hello,
I am planning on to purchase a Chanel WOC in the future at the Heathrow airport. I am confused to the VAT and duty free. So if I purchase it at the airport, do I still get a VAT refund? Or since I'll be purchasing duty free, I won't get charge with VAT? I don't know, I am really confused about this? Also, lambskin vs caviar? How high maintenance is the lambskin?
Thank you!

If you buy at the airport duty free, there's no VAT refund because you aren't going to get charged VAT.

If you buy in the city, you get forms to fill out for your VAT refund.

However, stock goes fast at the airport, so contact the personal shoppers if you're looking for something specific. The city shops have much more stock. Classics aren't stocked at the airport too.

I've found lambskin durable, but I only have small lambskin pieces: card case and WOC. They can show scratches faster than caviar since its softer, but I haven't noticed any on any of my Chanel pieces both lambskin and caviar.
