I love smoky eye! Your description sounds similar to my coloring. I think dark grey or even a plum/purple smoky eye will be nice (contrasts with green / hazel eyes).

I don't think you need super high end jewelry to make it look nice. There are costume type pieces I have seen that appear high end not cheap or lacking class.

Hopefully you'll be able to borrow a nice clutch. If not, ysl a good choice or Jimmy Choo can often find in metallic tones or anthracite color. Actually, if you go for purple smoky eye, they have some purple evening bags currently. Often can find cheaper in certain retailers online brand new or on resale market.

Let us know what you decide!

Thank you for your input! Yes I tend to like a brown copper smokey or plum is gorgeous too which reminds me I was on the look out for a new plum eye shadow.

Definitely play up your eyes. I have green/hazel eyes and love playing with the colors you mentioned.

I agree that simple jewelry would work. The dress is already eye-catching and fun. Please do take and share pictures; this sounds like an amazing event. Have fun!

Here is the event. It´s open to "outsiders" so for that reason might be also less exclusive and old money.
Yes I start stressing out (I have known Paris...and thinking Diamonds and all the things I don´t possess but then I remember how "average" Danes are most of the time not really dressing properly even for weddings...) If only we had something like rent the runway here.
The silk dress is with long sleeves, shoulder pads, open on the back but very short. It has a 80s vibe, its beautifully draped. I need to lose a couple of kgs and keep the rest extremely simple if I want to sport that one.
Like give it a high fashion styling : close the decolleté front. Wear with thin black tights to less expose the legs skin.
Wear my long brown hair side parting.
No jewelry ? or only tiny gold studs... Smokey eye or lighter eyeliner & red lip combo (if the Louboutin give the red sole...) But which clutch?
I think this is perfect. If it's matching and looks good with the outfit, I'm not sure it should matter where the clutch comes from.

I know Scandinavia is famous for being casual and not dressing up, but that doesn't mean people dress however they like. There are some regional differences, but social harmony and fitting in are very much emphasized and there are many strict informal rules, including rules on not dressing up. Not only on how you dress but everything in life :sleepy:. I would've thought what to wear to funerals and wedding would've been one, but maybe not in Denmark and perhaps not in all social circles. :P Have fun, it's such a lovely hotel, I haven't been since before the pandemic.

This is Scandinavia, so not as fancy as Paris or London, but still....I should go for cocktail dress rather than gala dress I feel?
I am single, so a bit of sexiness would be welcome, but obviously classy and chic, not vulgar.
Shoes wise I have Pigalle patent Louboutins or black nappa leather Gianvito Rossi pumps 10.
I am missing the dress and the handbag and the entire look....I have long brown hair. Suggestions on the look please!
I have a short silk dress from Balmain H&M.
How was the event?

It was great! And definitely a lot of what I would consider "fashion faux-pas", so there was really nothing to worry about!
People were very nice, smart and pleasant, and relaxed while dressed up so it was perfect to me!
I wore that short dress with tights, the nappa leather Gianvito Rossi, a non branded small handbag, discreet gold earing balls and curled/wavy long hair.
