This is Scandinavia, so not as fancy as Paris or London, but still....I should go for cocktail dress rather than gala dress I feel?
I am single, so a bit of sexiness would be welcome, but obviously classy and chic, not vulgar.
Shoes wise I have Pigalle patent Louboutins or black nappa leather Gianvito Rossi pumps 10.
I am missing the dress and the handbag and the entire look....I have long brown hair. Suggestions on the look please!
I have a short silk dress from Balmain H&M.

What kind of dinner and dancing is it? Is it just an evening at a hotel bar or it’s an event you’re invited to?

Scandinavia is pretty chill, both in weather and in fashion. Definitely I would say not a gown, a cocktail dress would be more then enough. They wear cocktail dresses even to weddings lol.
Silk dress sounds beautiful but might be too cold for the weather?
Maybe even a casual dress pretty enough to show your best features?

Wear whatever shoes you’d be comfortable in. If you’re planning to dance shoes should be comfortable. Patent Pigalle sound painful.

Enjoy your time there!

Perhaps consider some layering so that if it’s cold and you start dancing a lot, you can remove some layers. I agree that the shoes need to be comfortable if you are planning to dance. Even a chunky boot with a thick heel, can be sexy. Especially if paired with something way above the knee.

Here is the event. It´s open to "outsiders" so for that reason might be also less exclusive and old money.
Yes I start stressing out (I have known Paris...and thinking Diamonds and all the things I don´t possess but then I remember how "average" Danes are most of the time not really dressing properly even for weddings...) If only we had something like rent the runway here.
The silk dress is with long sleeves, shoulder pads, open on the back but very short. It has a 80s vibe, its beautifully draped. I need to lose a couple of kgs and keep the rest extremely simple if I want to sport that one.
Like give it a high fashion styling : close the decolleté front. Wear with thin black tights to less expose the legs skin.
Wear my long brown hair side parting.
No jewelry ? or only tiny gold studs... Smokey eye or lighter eyeliner & red lip combo (if the Louboutin give the red sole...) But which clutch?

I love the dangleterre  I think your outfit sounds fun. Opaque stockings and comfy but cute shoes perhaps?
ETA: the dress is very nice, but relatively unforgiving to those of us who could lose some weight (I have been struggling with weight for basically three plus decades, so I’m sadly familiar with this issue myself lol. . . Make sure you look in a three way mirror so you can see the back of the dress before wearing it out and possibky double sided tape to prevent exposure is my advice :)

Thank you, you know the place? I have never been and often just wanted to have a glass of champagne there....
It is definitely my sexiest dress, It´s only that it´s a size small and a bit tight right now years after buying it...

My chunky boots are definitely not dressy enough sadly (Acne Studios). And a boot but I don´t have these OTK boots, only regualr knee ones with kitten heels I wore at a cocktail bar on saturday.
I know it sounds like madness but I have already danced the night away with Pigalle...alcohol helps!

I stayed at the hotel last month. It was my first time in Scandinavia. I sadly have not seen the ballroom, but I’m sure it’s gorgeous! Have an amazing time and take pics for us :drinks: I think either of your boots might work. . .its all in the attitude  But, the food is good there, so you might want to wear a dress that’s a bit big rather than small (I like to eat :)

Oh great <3
Haha thats a good input, luckily the tight part is only on the hips and the top is loose :P
It´s the palmcourt / Palmhave which when you google it looks so beautiful.

I think the dress and the leather shoes are perfect! Any clutch would go, even a bright colored one! Small golden studs are perfect too.

Danes are not into dressing up too much. But hey they do know how to party!!! lol Probably the craziest party animals I’ve met were from Denmark.

Don’t stress out about things and just enjoy your time there!

This event sounds great...How exciting for you and your friend! I love your outfit, although I personally feel it would also look good with a necklace or dangle earrings.

When you say "which clutch", do you already own some options or are you looking for suggestions to purchase something?

They absolutely know how to party yes! If I ever leave this country I will miss that for sure. I also feel safe while doing so.
For them it´s to make up for how reserved and distant they are sober/during the day.
You are right it is about enjoying the event, but I don´t want to be judged and not fit in (my French mentality speaking here :P ) But it´s probably going to just be married couples and groups of girlfriends -as usual in Denmark-

You are right and I am still debating what to do about this...
On one hand yes let´s go 80s Versace vibe and have the statement earrings...etc..On the other hand I want "high fashion" vibe so less is more BUT afraid to be boring. And also the more I add the more it may look cheap. (I don´t have fine jewelry for instance)
Same for the clutch I have none...so I am asking to my friend to borrow one in her collection but I´m hoping it won´t be an H&M thing....or I am looking at YSL clutches on pre-loved market. So yes I´m open style wise! A pop of colour could be nice.
Make up wise I am still between a smokey eye or a simple eyeliner and bold red lip. (I am a brunette with olive skin, dark brown hair and hazel eyes).
I will be going to the hairdresser that day, middle back thin long hair with layers, I don´t know yet if I go super straight or wavy
