Sydnet bars are made from synthetic surfactants, which are made from fats, oils, or petroleum products. As a result, sydnet bars are considered to be the mildest of cleansing bars. I believe that Dove was actually the first Sydnet bar produced back in the 50's.

I have read all of these posts about people washing their face with Dove soap and I can not imagine doing so. For some reason, I have never felt that bar soap (of any kind) is suitable for face-washing.

My derm rec dove about 6 years ago. I have been using sensitve skin dove on and off since. Sometimes I need an exfoliant cleanser but always do back to dove. I was so sad when the sensitive skin face wash was discontinued because it was even better than the bar.

After reading this thread, I think that I may try my Dove bars to wash my face:)

yeah, it wokls wonders for me, Im asian.. Filipina actually but I have really fair skin, I flatters me to get lots of nice comments about my clear skin...I just say I use dove.. Ive worked w/ various make-up artists and they always say I have good skin, they are happy that i dont need much coverage foundation wise... to sum it up I think I have been using dove for 26 years now.. Im 28:D and in the cruel cruel world of modeling... good skin is a requirement

Its kinda weird that they say Dove is not a soap...
Our derma is a huge Fan of Dove as well, she says there's nothing like it..
Its also weird how it gets rid of my pimples everytime I have some..
the only issue I have w/ it is that I consume one bar real fast!!
1 bar would last me like 4 days!

good lord. I use a regular size bar and I keep it in the shower and it takes me over a month if not two to use one!

Weird, my Derm tells everyone to use it. She said there is no point to buy anything else because this does the job, it's cheap, and it's gentle.

I am a die hard Dove user! I first started using it because I have Psoriasis and needed something that would moisturize very well - I also read somewhere that Katie Couric uses it! She has beautiful skin, maybe because of the Dove?? There is nothing that smells better than the original Dove beauty bar! I am kind of weird about using Dove & only Dove but I also LOVE Jergen's lotion kind of like I love Dove too! The combo works great for me.

I have very dry skin that flakes, almost all year long. I don't know how my skin would look without dove. Actually I do. It looks like fish scales.

Oh shuxxxxx... I shower twice a day and I must admit that I may be the only one who consumes that much Dove!

^^^ Exactly my skin type!^^^

Dove is the only bar soap that I buy for showering and shaving. Dove lather is enough lather to shave as well. It feels so super moisturizing. I have been using Dove for about 20 years now and my skin is super soft.

I love Dove. I love the smell of the original Dove because it reminds me of summers with my Grandma and that's what she uses. I don't use it all the time because I prefer body washes but when I do, I use it for months at a time. I've been searching for that scent in perfume form.
