Exactly. It's not really soap. It's a syndet bar. Don't mind me I am really biased because I am soapmaker. Haven't used commercial stuff like Dove in over 5 years. Handmade all the way.
Sydnet bars are made from synthetic surfactants, which are made from fats, oils, or petroleum products. As a result, sydnet bars are considered to be the mildest of cleansing bars. I believe that Dove was actually the first Sydnet bar produced back in the 50's.
I have read all of these posts about people washing their face with Dove soap and I can not imagine doing so. For some reason, I have never felt that bar soap (of any kind) is suitable for face-washing.
After reading this thread, I think that I may try my Dove bars to wash my face![]()
Its kinda weird that they say Dove is not a soap...
Our derma is a huge Fan of Dove as well, she says there's nothing like it..
Its also weird how it gets rid of my pimples everytime I have some..
the only issue I have w/ it is that I consume one bar real fast!!
1 bar would last me like 4 days!

good lord. I use a regular size bar and I keep it in the shower and it takes me over a month if not two to use one!
