Dooney regrets….

Mainly because it seems to be so popular, even though it’s so different from what I usually carry, I recently bought a pebble grain zip zip satchel and returned it because it’s a boulder, even before you fill it, and it’s awkward to carry. I guess I’m just a small-medium crossbody Dooney gal.
I love the look of zip zip but know what you mean. I rarely reach for mine.

Me as well. I had three of them as well as the smaller Bitsy but I could not carry them comfortably, especially on the shoulder and crossbody. I found the strap to be very awkward. I carried them more in the crook of my arm or hand-carry but got tired of it. I eventually wound-up gifting them to family and friends. They made it to good homes so have no regrets about not having them in my collection any longer.

I've noticed that the handbags I loved in years past no longer work
as well for my current needs. I don't consider the purchases to be mistakes,
since I enjoyed the bags for a while. The only mistakes are the bags that
were always too small for me or hard to get into with one hand.

You're not alone. Late one night during the holidays got I caught down the rabbit hole watching QVC sing the praises of the magical D&B Florentine Satchels. The QVC hosts sucked me in that night and I ordered two D&B Florentine Satchels. One medium and one large in black and natural. When I received them and did the unboxing the thrill was gone. While I thought the leather quality was beautiful, I hated the heavy weight of the bag and hardware. I returned the bags ASAP for a refund. The next D&B purchase I made was from the saffiano collection. I decided light weight bags are what work best for me. I order the D&B Large Saffiano Domed Satchel in the color Elephant. Luckily this one was a winner for me.

Glad you found what works for you. And applause for returning the bags that
you knew weren't right, as soon as you opened the boxes.

It's so easy to get 'convinced' that something is just wonderful....
whether from other handbag lovers, YT videos or great online shopping channel
presentations. Over the years I've enjoyed and learned a lot about Dooney from
QVC (when Sue Clifton was the brand rep). But with age, comes wisdom,
hopefully, and even those 4 lb bags that were magnificent some years ago,
are now too heavy for me to lift even when empty!

And color is another subjective thing.... I'm glad you love your Elephant handbag.
I've given mine away since the color doesn't make me happy. But that's ok....
you have a right to love the colors that work for you, and I'm just glad there
is a rainbow to choose from so I can get my blues/purples/ pinks. 😁
I will admit that sometimes I crave the colors and other times, I reach for the
neutrals. And over the years, even the neutrals I prefer vary.
