My very favorite PL design - the Cooper. The ease of the magnetic closure does it for me, the wide strap, plus it smushes against the body comfortably. My pooch is named Cooper after the bag...but plz don't tell him. He's quite emotional and doesn't need to know. :giggle: I do wish DB would offer the bag again in PB in new colors. Pictured are red, strawberry, natural (I think) and bubble gum.
Oops I forgot the oyster that didn't make the fam photo.

I love looking at the oyster color pebbled leather.
And my wardrobe is cool colors....
BUT.... I find it difficult to pair oyster with my outfits.
It just never seems to look like a great choice.
Sand, bone, even light taupe just work better.

I can't figure out why! Maybe my color judgment
has been affected by the neutrals craze on social media
and YT videos. Has my brain been co-opted by visions
of H gold as the 'gold standard' of neutral handbags?
Have elephant and etoupe muddied my vision?

Is it the undertones? It looks kinda pinky/peachy underneath, but I’ve not really looked at it in person. That elephant is a real chameleon color. Sometimes it’s muddy gray other times it’s taupe, some times it’s brown. I guess I’m bias, I don’t care for Elephant.
It's probably a combination of undertones and the lighting... indoor vs. outdoor.
Elephant looks very different in Florentine leather than in pebbled leather.
In Florentine, it's a very muddy greenish brown. I really dislike it.
In pebbled leather is more 'attractive' sort of a taupe with a lot of brown
undertones. Yet, some people love the Elephant color. Each to their own
color preferences.

Oyster will actually pair with anything. There is a slight off pink tone but in hand there's no peach tone (may be my camera). There's a very slight brown/gray mix undertone. It is neutral enough that it goes with any color & looks appropriate 365/yr. No worries! Here it is with natural light on it.

The first pic you posted looked a different color. It’s a really nice color.

I did it!
Got my first bag from D&B.
The small Zip Satchel in black black.
This bag gives off a very vintage vibe to me, circa 50-60’s. And also reminds me of the vintage D&B Essex handle bag.

I wanted a smaller bag, that would also be great for an evening out, and this fit the bill. Has handles, and also a crossbody strap. I like the black contrast on the zipper, and that both zippers (1 in front & 1 in back) are flat. My iPhone 14 Pro with case & mag ring, fits nicely inside the front pocket. The bag has snaps on the both sides for that tapered look, unsnapping opens up for more room. It’s not heavy either. There’s 3 pockets inside.

I absolutely love this bag! And I’m hoping to get out to the outlet in the next few weeks, I’d like to get this bag in another color. I think the smaller bag has such a classic & sophisticated look.

Congratulations on getting the bag you wanted and I’m so glad you love it. Your items fit very nicely inside. Very nice
Thank you! ♥️

I’m so glad I went with the smaller one. I’m not too certain on the strap though. It’s thinner, and in 3 parts. I may swap it out with the strap from either my micro Flo, or Coach Willis. Or not even use the strap at all!

I'm glad you finally got the bag and picked the size that works for you!
It's a very nice looking handbag, very functional, and in the small size, it's
also adorable. Enjoy carrying your new handbag and then you can make
an informed decision about how many more colors you want. You can't really
know how much you love a handbag or how well it works for you until you
actually use it in real life. I'm the Queen of buying more than one of a style
because it's a great price and I love it, only to find that it doesn't work as well
as I though it would. 🙄

I've seen YT videos... that bag is collected by many. They find the size and the look and
the function just right. And when the price is good... it's hard to resist.

Longer crossbody/shoulder straps are easy to substitute out, so I'm glad
you aren't letting that diminish your enjoyment of the bag. Look over all
the black straps you have and also consider a guitar strap in canvas....
either black or a pattern. Wide canvas straps are very comfortable and
you can use it on more than one bag to get your cost per wear way down.

Some people like chain straps. I think they look nice, but don't
find them very comfortable. But there are lots of options.
And Target had an acrylic thick chain strap online for $10...
it came in a variety of colors, including a leopard print.

I'm certain I posted the video in here, but I watched a video from a woman that had multiple of these she purchased from her local outlet. One thing that stood out to me, was the contrast on her zippers all color coordinated. Whereas, on ILD, the contrast color was only available for the black black. The other bags has the brown contrast. I'm planning a trip down to the outlet soon, I wonder if those bags are only sold at the outlet store.

[looks around][whispers] I feel this way about the Buckley. 😬

I love how structured it is! It stands straight up. Has a nice structured bottom platform. Plenty of pockets. One could easily overload the bag, then unsnap the sides.
