Wow! What a wealth of information. Thank you so much! I saw I Love Dooney selling at Ebay.Sophie: I Love Dooney (ILD) is the online Dooney outlet. I've ordered from them
many, many, many times. Always a sale popping up, so sign up for emails
and also check on this forum to see what sales others post. Just note that
ILD policies are sometimes different than Dooney.com and Dooney brick and mortar
stores and outlets.
I've found quality on ILD to be the same as from any other Dooney source,
including dept stores and QVC.
ILD has a decent return policy.... but there is no price adjustment and
for returns you must follow the rules. And that means the bag can't be
used and the return window timing is based on their rules. Also
Customer Service isn't great.
On the plus side, you can get great deals. It's not the place to buy
with the plan to return just to check out a bag. But it's a great place
to buy if you know the brand and the styles and want good deals.
It pays to stalk the bags you want so you can learn what's a good price
and pounce at the right time.
I used to buy on the phone from some of the outlets. But I haven't done
that in over 3 years. Procedures and returns are different at the outlets
than on ILD. And some outlets were very accommodating for phone orders
and others less so. If they still do phone orders, try to call at times when
they are likely to be less busy, not on holidays, weekends, or before closing.
And the more you know about the bag(s) you are interested in, the better.
When dealing on the phone you need to be sure the sales rep is looking at
the exact same bag you are asking about.... sizes can vary and also lots of
names of bags/styles are similar. Same is true with color.... there could be
multiple colors (like blues), so know the exact color name you want, to be
sure you and the sales rep are talking about the same thing on the phone.
It helps to have a style number. Luckily you can get lots of info online
from the Dooney web site or the ILD web site or dept store web sites, etc.
BTW, I Love Dooney has a store on Amazon. Items ship from the same warehouses
as ILoveDooney.com. But return policies/costs can be different. Generally sale
prices on ILD are better on their own site than on the Amazon store. But.... sometimes
you find a treasure on the Amazon store at a better price, so it's worth remembering
to check it out also.
So many handbags, so many sales, so much temptation.....
Sophie: I meant to refer to the ILD store on EBAY.Wow! What a wealth of information. Thank you so much! I saw I Love Dooney selling at Ebay.
There is also free shipping on the ILD site with a purchase of over $119.I like that on eBay there is free shipping with ILD
PF: OK, but if you use the return label from ILD on Ebay, don't you have toEbay ILD returns are FREE
You can print the return label right from ebay. Returns from ILD site are now 9.50 ! I recently returned a bag that was not up to standard for me and had 9.50 deducted from my purchase price from ILD. I prefer eBay ILD as there is no purchase amount for free shipping.
This was new to me as well.PF: thank you. I learned something new today.
Now, I'm going to have to add the ILD/Ebay store to the sites
I scan for treasures.
G: I have the 'regular' size Florentine Brenna in Navy. Stunning, of course... Navy Florentine leather is beautiful. And the style is interesting and functional. This was new to me as well.
Full confession. The woman that claimed (me), to be done buying D&B bags, just spotted the ILD D&B small brenna florentine in navy. I have a navy in the satchel with the tassels on the end (florentine that has been around forever). I can't remember the name.
The bag is normally $398.00 and with the promo code it is $159.00. It's a small bag, but that is still a pretty good price and having a second navy bag may come in handy.
I admit, I tend to shop in spurts. I see things for a good deal and I buy. Sometimes it works and sometime it does not. For instance, I guy quite a few jackets/coats---which means I buy scarves to match. I used to get Reiss scarves for a good sale price ($145.00 - $160.00 marked down to $48.00 - $55.00). They stopped having the good sales and I am glad I purchased my scarves in the past seasons. Especially, when I have not cared for the high prices and the styles I have seen the last two years.
Does anyone have the florentine small Brenna and can give me feedback? The reviews were thin on info.
