sooooo. My guitar shoulder strap just got dropped off from Amazon. I must say it’s quite beautiful and very thick. I think it matches my Buckley perfectly. Might even work on my large chestnut Florentine satchel. I am enjoying the Buckley bag. It holds a good amount and is a very fun bag.

And now you have another accessory to collect.... different colors and different patterns.
The one you got looks great with your Buckley.

My Dooney and Bourke Buckley Bag has just arrived. First impressions are this bag is absolutely beautiful. It’s lighter than the large Florentine satchel. This is my first drawstring bag and it’s amazing the way drawstring is all on the inside of the bag. This makes the Buckley look so unique. I got it in navy with natural accents. I don’t have anything in natural and I’m a bit scared of this color. I’m looking forward to using this bag this weekend.

mushroomNgra: So it's taken me a week, but I finally remembered the color of the
trim on your Buckley. I'm pretty sure it's Butterscotch and it's a dyed Vachetta leather,
not an untreated natural Vachetta leather. While it can still water spot, the dyed leather is
much less likely to show every little spot and stain.
Hope you are enjoying your Buckley.

Thank you. The butterscotch is really pretty. The qvc videos said it was natural like the Florentine natural color. I am enjoying my Buckley bag so much. I am very happy that it’s in my collection. I want to thank you again for the advice to carry the bag a few weeks before getting another in a different color.

I've learned from experience.... I tend to buy the same bag in multiple colors before I have used
the first one enough to know if it really works for me or if there are some things that are
a problem (for me). When I find something I really like and it's at a great sale, I want to add the
colors I love to my collection. I have to keep reminding myself to wait to see if that style is really
something I need (or want) in multiple colors. Is so easy to get swept up in the excitement of a
beautiful handbag and a great price.

You seem to be finding a lot of Dooney treasures at great prices in really nice condition. You are braver than I.
But you are acquiring a beautiful collection of Florentine handbags.

Some ladies buy natural color Florentine preloved just so that they don't feel intimidated about messing
up a new natural Flo bag. If you can find one in decent shape it might be worth considering. Also,
some people clean and condition all the bags they buy preloved.... including Florentine. I don't condition my new
Florentine handbags, but after a few years, I sometimes use Apple brand conditioner...lightly.... to
give the bags some TLC.

Darker color Florentine is much more care free. But the natural and lighter colors can be beautiful.
I'll admit, when I carry a pale blue or ecru or bone or natural Florentine handbag I am
very careful. And these colors are reserved for outings where I know they can be babied.
My light color Flo bags don't go to the supermarket or any other store, ever. And never to
a restaurant for take out food!

Enjoy your new Flo baby.
Lavenderjunkie,
I might not remember correctly, but I had a Chelsea tote that I believe was florentine and I completely ruined it when it was only a couple of weeks old. I have moaned about this before.
I had a water bottle thrown in the bag and it leaked completely ruining the bag. I attempted to dry out slowly and used leather cleaner. The water Mark remained large and unsightly. It was a great bag for a perfect price of $119.00 and shipped from the outlet. I used the bag on the D&B trade-in program.
I've donated brand new Dooney bags that were at least three times the price and never missed them, but I still pout about ruining the Chelsea bag. I know, it's just a bag.

I feel your pain. A few water spots have ruined more than one handbag I've owned.... usually the first
or second time I've worn the bag. I never forget since the bags were so new and otherwise perfect.
So, when others say water spots are no problem, the leather will dry just fine.... I'm happy for them,
but take it with a grain of salt. Maybe the water in my area has more minerals in it.

Grain of salt is exactly right....I have had tap water stain permanently on one Natural bag yet on another water was no problem. I do Apple Guard spray some. I have hard water too.

I am dipping my toe into ecru by starting with the Florentine coin case. My pale blue satchel has been good to me so far. The one I'm terrified to use is a Florentine Dusty Blue Toggle crossbody. The leather was very soft brand new. I'm afraid it will be like a magnet for stains sigh...so I admire it around the house. One day will get my nerve up...

Your Buckley bag is so gorgeous. So unique.

Lavender has helped me so much too. I bought my Crimson small satchel, a mini Tmoro Brown and one other I think before really carrying them to see if right for me. The larger the bag, the shorter the strap I need oddly... and I found shoulder bags are best for me. I still love my satchels but i calm myself down before I get swept up lol (I'm currently obsessed with trying a large one!)
