As I've grown older I have grown more confident in myself and no longer feel the need to carry what's popular or trendy. I'm no longer interested in LV which was my first luxury brand or any brand with highly visible trademarks or initials. I prefer quieter brands such as Bottega Veneta for instance. I see so many posts in the LV and Chanel forums with complaints about quality issues and defects that I just don't see in BV. The brand isn't as popular and therefore doesn't have the sales volume so their artisans can truly complete works of art that are handcrafted rather than having to churn out product after product to satisfy the demand. Another brand that I probably wouldn't have given a second look 10 or 15 years ago is Tod's. I love their hardworking totes and beautiful leather but they too are an under the radar brand as evidenced by the lack of participation in the forum. I am also no longer interested in acquiring bag after bag just for the purpose of collecting them and are more interested in having items that truly fill a need.
