you would hope so with the price difference....there are some here who used to love prada and then more recently have complained about the made in China quality. but still hopefully better than MK

do you think the leather is comparable? what about durability?
I do not have a Prada but can vouch for the durability of MK saffiano leather. I have a black MK Selma bag used daily for many years (bought in 2016, 2017? but don't have great recall) and it still looks good. I occasionally buy a new purse but continue to grab this one due to its size and low-key looks and practical functionality. The straps are not cracking, the edges have remained durable. The hardware is still gold and beautiful, no chips or flakes or crazing.
I have a Prada Galleria Lux tote and an MK Mercer tote, both in Saffiano. The MK looks great after two years and I’ve worn the heck out of it in different weather conditions. The Prada is older, and the leather mostly looks good, but the piping and corners are showing some wear. The Prada feels a bit more flexible, but both are ultimately stiff/plasticky. It can’t be helped with the wax finish of Saffiano. Honestly? I don’t think you’re getting a lot better quality with Prada in terms of durability.

I agree more expensive doesn’t always mean better quality. My Prada woc started coming apart and I had to have it repaired. It’s lasted well since the repair though. I’ve had for 8 years.
