Hello H lovers, I apologize if this subject has ever been brought up but I’m soooo curious. I am a very established Hermes client for about 9 years now and love the staff where I currently shop. I’m in the U.S. (as an fyi) but I’ve never received a Christmas card/ birthday card or even a text message for any holidays and I’m wondering if any of my fellow H aficionados have ever received special greetings, Holiday gifts/ cards or even a birthday message? I remember, once a few years ago, receiving a bottle of champagne with some special cookies in a very nice gift bag) from my old home store but that’s it in all the years I’ve been shopping with the brand.
I shop at Van Cleef a lot and sometimes I have years I don’t buy a single item, for whatever reason, but I always receive birthday gifts and cards, Christmas gifts, anniversary text messages and of course every time I stop by (just to say “hi” most of the time), I’m greeted with Champagne and chocolate. Am I missing something? I’m a very good Hermes client. We get invited to special events and support our store all we can. I can feel the love when we walk in. I don’t buy for the bags, although I do love and appreciate all my quota bags, I am genuinely a true lover of the brand. I’ve purchased in almost every category and have very good relationships with my SA, her colleagues and the store director. This is a topic I’ve always wanted to ask them about, but I don’t want to seem rude and/ or make them feel uncomfortable, but I must say, I almost feel like Hermes (as it is currently structured) feels like we, the consumers, owe them something. I may be wrong, but with the amount of sales I give them on a yearly basis on non quota stuff (and yes, I’m offered very special QBs, which some I’ve taken and some I’ve passed on), I feel like they could demonstrate some type of gratitude especially bc they are one of the highest, if not, the highest luxury store brands in the luxury space, and for them not to even send a Christmas card is very disappointing. I’m wondering if they just don’t teach that in their training classes/ customer service? Which would be ridiculous in my opinion if they didn’t include that as part of their sales training; they are still in the people business. I don’t know, I really love the brand but this is something that really bothers me because I receive so many momentos and regards from other luxury brands (even if it’s just a text message commemorating the day) so in my mind, Hermes should be doing the same thing. What’s been your experience with that? I would love to know.
