You only do redye when your bag is so battered that it seem impossible to have it restored. But if its just minor flaws it should not be done. I heard it can dry out the leather. But how about the caviar? Will redying dry it too?

I’m guessing Chanel thinks they can not make it seamlessly without touching the whole bag? The person did not say the word redye but it sounds like it is the process she recommended for the future since she mentioned about texture change. It is a seasonal color so not sure if that plays a factor. I’m a newbie for Chanel bag spa. In your experience, is the corner touch-up detectable?Someone set me straight if I am wrong, but Leather Surgeons repairs most if not all Chanel spa services in the US. That said I have been away from Chanel for some time, so things may have changed. My 2 cents is if a bag needs to be redyed, and I have had only 2 redyed, it was worth every penny. I would rather save the bag than worry about its hand feeling slightly different. in your case of just corner touch up, I would use LS. I would not redye a bag just for corner wear. Wonder why Chanel would recommend a dye job?? Seems odd. I know Hermes does corner touch ups.
I also have a beige Clair caviar medium classic flap that has minor corner wear and some scratches on the leather. Not sure if I should go through leather surgeons or ask Chanel if they will do after care. What did you end up doing?I have a light-colored lambskin mini rectangular flap from 2020 that needs some corner touch-ups. However, Chanel customer care at the store said they will need to refinish the entire bag and she recommended I wait 2-3 years to get it done because the refurbishment can only be done once in a lifetime and will alter the texture of the leather slightly. I know I can get the touchup done by a local leather shop or Leather Surgeons. But I heard if I do that Chanel will not service my bag in the future. Is that true? I do like the feel of my bag but the scuffings really bother me. Any recommendations?
Hi! Would you mind sharing pictures of the black caviar WOC both before and after?I had my Chanel lady braid flap bag (in distressed lambskin I think?) re-painted. I was NOT happy. The bag was in great condition just needed to be cleaned out, they told me they can redye and it will look good... Oh boy its so hard and stiff!!!!!!!!! No longer have that soft leather feel... Ugh I was soooo disappointed! HOWEVER, I did have my first WOC in black caviar repainted (again it did not even need to be repainted, I just got kind of sucked in but that's a different story LOL) and I was very pleased with the results, no complains on this one. Looks brand new and the leather looks great.
Hi!!!!! I just repainted black to black LOL! The WOC looks great!!!! And there is no difference in the feel of the leather (at least I can’t remember lol) here are some pics of before and after. You can tell the difference more in person lol.Hi! Would you mind sharing pictures of the black caviar WOC both before and after?
Was it repainted to black or another color? I would love to know details as I am thinking about something similar for one of my caviar pieces and am scared of changing the "leather feel". Thank you!
