“Does anyone else get Van Cleef ick?”

I feel 'van cleef ick' is another thing that has been made up so influencers have another topic to create content on.

Deinfluencing is basically influencers eating themselves. At this point, if the only thing that influencers have for content is commenting on each other, then we know that content-creators are in trouble.

I saw a young woman wearing a VCA inspired bracelet the other day on the Underground. She looked very nice and put together. Maybe she didn't know who VCA was. Fashion always comes from somewhere. When the trend is over, VCA will remain.

Van Cleef will never give me the ick. Where I live (Germany, small town), Van Cleef is virtually unknown. Since I'm German, I know that it's also not very well known throughout Germany. When I travel to my home country, where I grew up (Singapore), I see a lot of Van Cleef. And yes, it honestly annoys me a bit because I always think of Van Cleef as my thing - but it doesn't make the brand ugly to me. I got VCA for my second birthday and I still wear it today. My opinion is, it can only give you the ick if you don't really love it. Why does everything have to be special and unique? Those personalised pieces from independent jewellers usually look crap anyway. Most people are all very similar to each other. Especially those who always want to be unique. In Germany I'm actually very unique, but that's good, nobody needs to know how much money I have on my body. For example, I never like the fake 22 carat versions that I see a lot on social media. Far too yellow, far too soft, far too imprecise

I had never heard of VCA before this year and I live in a major metropolitan city in the USA. I fell in love with Zodiaque first then added two Alhambra bracelets because I truly loved them. I don’t do social media much so I had no idea about the brand. I love that no one in my area knows what they are or how much they cost. They are intrinsically beautiful and very high quality to my eye, and make me happy to wear them. I don’t care if other people wear knockoffs either. I’m not keen for people to know my wrist has $$$ on it. My motto is wear what makes your heart sing.

To add to what has already been said:

If VCA makes someone happy, no need to piss on their parade.

They may have dreamed about it for a long time and worked hard to accrue gorgeous jewelry

Many jewelry makers out there for everyone’s personal taste if VCA gives that ‘ick’ feeling.
:flowers:
Personally I  VCA (and other luxury brands)

The only "ick" I get is when someone calls it "Van Cleef" and not "VCA" or "Van Cleef and Arpels" but the pieces are beautiful regardless of who is wearing them.
