The first thing I do when I walk in the house is remove all jewelry. I can't stand having it on in the house. I'm not one to sit around and do nothing (Unless you count coming on TPF
so I don't like my jewelry getting in the way of what I'm doing. Also, after my son was born, I found that I was constantly scratching his face with my ring so I invested in a $200 titanium ring that I wear when I don't want to dirty my wedding rings. It was intended to wear around the house to when I was cleaning, etc.,. I use it more for when we are being very active outside (Jetskiing, skiing, hiking, running...You get the point). So if it were me going on this cross country trip, I would wear my titanium band instead. Or like tomorrow, we're going pumpkin and berry picking - you guessed it, titanium band instead of pretty diamonds
My friend and her husband also have two sets of rings - a plain band for both of them when they are doing active, "dirty" work and then their original sets for everything else. Just something to think about if you are a very active person!
