Do you wear your engagement ring all the time?

The first thing I do when I walk in the house is remove all jewelry. I can't stand having it on in the house. I'm not one to sit around and do nothing (Unless you count coming on TPF:) so I don't like my jewelry getting in the way of what I'm doing. Also, after my son was born, I found that I was constantly scratching his face with my ring so I invested in a $200 titanium ring that I wear when I don't want to dirty my wedding rings. It was intended to wear around the house to when I was cleaning, etc.,. I use it more for when we are being very active outside (Jetskiing, skiing, hiking, running...You get the point). So if it were me going on this cross country trip, I would wear my titanium band instead. Or like tomorrow, we're going pumpkin and berry picking - you guessed it, titanium band instead of pretty diamonds:) My friend and her husband also have two sets of rings - a plain band for both of them when they are doing active, "dirty" work and then their original sets for everything else. Just something to think about if you are a very active person!

I'm another who immediately takes off all jewelry once I return home. I usually put my e-ring in the original box my DF gave me. However, there are times when I leave the house and I forget to put it back on...:shrugs:

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't take it off. I take if off when I clean the house when wearing e-ring, but most to of the time I leave my wedding band or 3 stone ring on even cleaning the house. I don't wear e-ring band when I play golf because I cant play w/it and can''t wear golf glove when having it.

I don't wear my rings when I'm at home and I only keep them in my jewelry box (I'd hate to misplace it). At work, I usually wear my Cartier love band or my smaller marquise promise ring. Other than that, I wear my ering/wedding band everywhere else.

I never wanted an e-ring for the reason that I didn't want to feel obligated to have to wear the same ring all the time forever. I am not much of a "ring person" I have small hands and fingers & rings kind of bug me sometimes.

DH and I both have very plain wedding bands that we both wear 24/7 (as far as I know :) ) He has bought me other things such as a car, new teeth, etc, so I like gifts, I just like to pick out my own jewelry.

When I come home I take off my right hand ring & earrings, but keep my wedding band, necklace and most bracelets.

I almost never take mine off. When I was first married (or engaged, I guess) I did take it off to do dishes, shower, etc. even washing hands - but after "misplacing" it a couple of times, I decided it just wasn't worth it. I'd rather have a soap-gunked-up ring than no ring!!!

I also had a friend who used to take her (very expensive, Tiffany) ring off to wash her hands - she did this (by habit) in an airport bathroom and LEFT IT THERE!!!! Luckily she went out, met her fiance, who immediately went, "where's your ring?!" and was fortunate enough that it was still there.

omg, that made my heart sink just reading that! thank goodness it was still there, because i assure you, if he didn't notice for even 10 minutes and she went back in there, it would have been long gone. sad, but true. especially in an airport.

see, i never take my rings off when i'm out and about and washing my hands. i just leave them on thinking they'll get clean. since everywhere you go now they have liquid soap, i know it won't gunk up my ring like a regular bar of soap would. i do, however, remove them when drying my hands but i'm holding them simultaneously and dry them off. otherwise, if they're too wet, they're too loose.

I wear my set when I'm not at home but when home I take it off because my e-ring is micro pave and 3 sided so I have to be careful with it and I also am careful with my wedding band because the setting is a Uternity and the diamonds are pretty exposed at every angle, I wanted it made that way because I love seeing all bling and not so much metal but now I have to be super careful! :sweatdrop:

I wear mine all the time-- working, sleeping, running, etc. I was so nervous when I first got it but after a while, I realized it was pretty resilient. I opted for platinum and it feels sturdy.
I have to say, I chose a ring that highly resembled my aunt's ring. She has been married for about fifty years and her ring is gorgeous. It is not brand new but it has been through a marriage and it makes me proud and envious of all my ring will go through. Not shiny and perfect forever... but real, nonetheless.

When i had a hands on job, used to wear my engagement ring on a necklace around my neck or would leave it at home if i couldn´t wear t around my neck either due to OH&S reasons. Now i wear it all the time, even when washing the dishes. I also take it with me everywhere we travel. Both my wedding and e-rings only have diamonds on one side, so i turn the rings towards the the palm of my hand if we go somewhere where safety is questionable which isn´t often anyway.
